What the tab shows
At the top: Spent this month, Approved for the ads still going, What they brought this month (clicks, and sign-ups where Marsell counts them) and, once there is something to divide, Each one cost: what a sign-up cost, or a click where there are no sign-ups. Money in two currencies is never added up. While any ad runs, Pause all asks “Pause every ad running now?” and Pause them all pauses every campaign, boost and ad test that can still spend. A campaign or a boost can be switched on again here, within what you approved; an ad test paused this way stays paused. Then one group for each place ads send people, each with its ads, what they spent and what they brought, and how its results are counted:
New ad sits on a group where Marsell can make one there: a Meta campaign aimed at your website, or at a funnel’s page once that page is live. A funnel with no ads says No ads yet, where its people would come from, and, until its page is live, that no ad can send people there yet.
After the groups come Accounts and tracking and Audiences.
The same groups show elsewhere: each funnel on Sell’s Funnels tab, and Sell’s Your website tab under Its ads, have a line such as “2 running · $40 this week” or “No ads yet”, with See its ads and, where Marsell can make one, Add an ad, which opens the group here with a new ad started. On Market’s Posts tab, Boost it opens Boosted posts. Marsell’s chat reads the same groups.
With no ad account connected and no ad yet, the tab says what ads do here, “Ads that send people where you want them”, with the one step to start, such as Connect Meta, and Accounts and tracking under it.
Accounts and tracking
Each ad platform has a tile that says where it stands, and What you need first: Meta (Facebook and Instagram):- a Meta Business portfolio;
- an ad account in it, with a payment method added in Ads Manager;
- a Facebook Page, which the ads run as;
- an Instagram professional account linked to that Page, for Instagram;
- connect as an admin of the portfolio;
- selling into the EU: set the default beneficiary and payer on the ad account once.
- a ChatGPT Ads Manager account. OpenAI opens it to businesses based in the United States;
- a payment method in ChatGPT Ads Manager: OpenAI bills the ads there;
- buyers where ChatGPT shows ads: the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Connect your ad account
Press Connect Meta or Connect Google Ads on its tile and approve access on the platform’s own page. OpenAI Ads connects with a key instead. In ChatGPT Ads Manager, open Settings and make a key for Marsell. Paste it under Key from ChatGPT Ads Manager and press Connect OpenAI Ads. The key gives full access to that one ad account, so Marsell sends it straight to Zernio, the service that runs your ads, to hold. Marsell never keeps it and never shows it again. Disconnecting doesn’t delete the key: it still works in ChatGPT Ads Manager until you delete it there, under Settings. Back in Marsell, the tile says Connected, with the ad account and the currency it pays in. A tile that says ads “aren’t switched on for Marsell yet” has nothing to connect for now. The tile also says when the ad account last synced, or when its sync stalled or failed. Disconnect on a connected tile takes the ad account away: Marsell stops making, running and reading ads on it, and what it already ran stays in your numbers. Ads still running have to be paused first, so nothing keeps spending where Marsell can’t reach. Google Ads connected through your Google sign-in is disconnected with Google itself, on Analytics under Sources. Only people whose role may connect accounts can disconnect one.More places your ads can run
Beside Meta and Google Ads, there’s a tile for LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, X and Reddit, each run from your own ad account on that network. A tile says Connected, Rehearsal or Not connected. Press it to see what it does here and What you need first, then Connect it on the network’s own page. Some networks have a smallest daily budget: TikTok’s is $20 a day and Pinterest’s $5.Where the ads may run
Marsell never guesses where to advertise. It takes the countries, or your town with a radius, from your confirmed facts. If they don’t say, choose them: Where may the ads run?, Add a country…, then Save the countries. Local ads reach 25 km around you by default.Your Google tag
The Google tag card, for the pages Marsell hosts for you, sits here too: your GA4 measurement ID, your Google Ads ID and your lead conversion label, so your ads measure visits to your pages and count each sign-up as a lead. See Your Google tag.Your website
Your own Meta campaigns send people to your site, from what you approved in Create. Press New ad on Your website (Meta needs to be connected first; until then the group offers Connect Meta). A new Meta campaign takes six steps:- The ad: a picture or film you approved in Create, and, for a square or 4:5 one, a tall version for Stories and Reels if you have one.
- What it says: Headline, Button, The ad’s text, Where the button goes (your site to start) and its Name in Ads Manager.
- What it’s for: Visits to your page, Clicks to your link, Reach, Engagement or, for a film, Video views. Meta shows it to the people most likely to do that.
- Who sees it: countries, or a city or region, ages, everyone or women or men, and interests as Meta names them.
- Where it shows: Let Meta pick the places (it usually costs less), or pick the feeds, Stories and Reels yourself.
- Money and dates: A day or In all, the amount, an optional later start, and when it Ends. It says the most it can spend in all.
Funnels
Each funnel in play has a group of its own: the ad tests and campaigns that send people to its page. Marsell counts every visit and sign-up on a funnel’s page itself. Once its page is live, New ad starts a Meta campaign aimed at it, the same way as for your website. See Funnels.Ad tests
An ad test runs two ads against each other, sending people to one landing page, with a daily budget, a set number of days and a total you approve. A test whose page belongs to a funnel shows in that funnel’s group; any other test shows under Other pages Marsell made.Start a test
1
Name the offer
Under Other pages Marsell made, press Try two ads for an offer and say Which offer should the ads sell?, for example a product or a free consultation.
2
Start it
Press Start the test. Marsell writes two ads and a landing page. It spends once you approve its card.
Run a test in ChatGPT
With OpenAI Ads connected, the ChatGPT tile has Run the next ad test in ChatGPT. The next test then runs there, and the tile says “The next ad test runs here, as two chat cards.” Let Marsell pick hands the choice back. Left to itself, Marsell runs a test on Facebook and Instagram, on Google Search for a law firm or a local business with Google Ads connected, or in ChatGPT when OpenAI Ads is connected and Meta isn’t. In ChatGPT each ad is a chat card shown beside answers: a title of 3 to 50 characters, up to 100 characters of text under it, one picture and your link. There’s no button: the card itself opens the link. Marsell counts the characters and writes the words again if one is over. A chat card takes a still picture, never a film. A test there aims for visits to your landing page, and reaches buyers only in the countries ChatGPT serves where you sell.Approve the spend
When the test is ready, a card asks to “Run two ads for” a number of days, “up to” a total. It shows:- both ads as people will see them;
- the budget: an amount a day for each ad, the days, and the most the test can spend;
- who sees them, where, and the landing page;
- How it works, in words.
Follow the results
Each test shows, for both ads, Spent, Views, Clicks, Visits and Took the step, and how much of its total is spent. Marsell reads the results every hour. In ChatGPT, OpenAI gives views, clicks and spend, updated once a day; visits and who took the step come from your landing page. A finished test stays in its group. An ad wins only when it’s clearly better at getting people to take the step, by a statistical test, after at least 30 visitors each. A small test can end without a winner. When one wins, Marsell pauses the other and says which won and by how much. Moving money to the winner is its own card: “Put” a new daily amount “on the winning ad”. It never raises a budget on its own.When a test stops
Marsell pauses both ads on its own when:- the test reaches the total you approved;
- its last day is over;
- the money bought nothing on two days: spend with no clicks, or clicks with nobody reaching the page.
Boosted posts
Marsell reads every post’s numbers each hour. When one of your posts from the last 30 days did better than three in four of that account’s posts of the last 90 days, on how many saw it or how many liked, commented on or shared it, it shows under Boosted posts. It can be boosted on the network that runs ads for its channel: Meta for Facebook and Instagram, Google Ads for YouTube, and LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, X or Reddit for their own posts. The post runs as an ad and keeps its likes and comments. Market’s Posts tab says when posts did better than most, with Boost it or Boost one, which opens this group.1
Open the post
Press the post’s Boost on button, such as Boost on Meta. It shows how many saw the post, how many liked, commented or shared it, and why it qualifies.
2
Type one amount
Under What may it spend in all?, type the most it may spend, and press Check it. Marsell says how many days it runs, about how much a day, and in which countries. It runs for up to 7 days, fewer when the network’s smallest daily budget makes the amount last fewer. Choose where ads may run first, under Accounts and tracking.
3
Approve that amount
Tick the sentence with the exact most it can spend and the day it ends, then press Boost it. It never spends more. The network reviews it before it shows.
Forms on ads
A form on an ad is one people fill in without leaving Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn. Press New form on Meta or LinkedIn and give it a name (only you see it), what it offers in one line, your privacy policy’s address and what people read after sending it. It asks for their name and email, and their phone number if you tick it. The network fills these in from their profile, so it takes a tap. Then boost a post with the form. Everyone who fills it in lands in People, with the form on their timeline. Marsell looks for new sign-ups every hour; Look for new sign-ups now looks straight away. Press a sign-up to see what they sent.How clicks and sign-ups are counted
Every ad link Marsell makes carries the ad’s own id,m, beside its campaign tags: both ads of a test, your own Meta campaigns, and a boost given a link of its own. On your own campaign’s link, the tags you wrote stay as you wrote them. The network adds its own click id on the way, such as Google’s gclid or Meta’s fbclid. So a visit can be traced to the ad that sent it.
Each ad then has two counts, shown side by side and never added up:
- The network’s own count: what the ad spent, its views, its clicks and the results the network itself claims.
- Marsell’s own count: the visits the ad sent, the accounts opened after them, and the paid subscriptions and payments that followed, with what each one cost.
- A visit is logged when its link carries the ad’s id, campaign tags or a network’s click id: which ad, the page, the time, the country and the kind of device. Signed-in app pages and bots are never logged.
- Each new account and each payment is credited once, to the last visit from a paid ad in the 30 days before it. The first payment and the first subscription are marked.
- A refund takes its money off, and a full refund takes the result away.
- Marsell’s own team, test accounts, payments in Stripe’s test mode, people who joined through a team invite and a second account of the same person never count.
- The network’s click id is kept only when the visitor said yes to cookies and their browser sends no Global Privacy Control signal, and for 90 days at most. See Data and security.

What goes back to Google
With Google Ads connected, Marsell sends Google two results for a visit that came from a Google ad click: the first payment, with its amount, and the new account. They go through Zernio, the service that runs your ads, every hour, once each, and only with the visitor’s yes to cookies and Google’s click id. A refund goes as a correction. In Google Ads they show as two conversion actions Marsell makes once: First payment (from Marsell), the main one, and New account (from Marsell), a secondary one. No email address or phone number is ever sent. Without Google Ads connected, nothing is sent, and the chat says so. Like Marsell’s own count, this runs for Marsell’s own ads today.Audiences
Audiences makes a list of your own people on an ad network: your subscribers who agreed to hear from you and your customers. Never anyone who unsubscribed or said no, never someone who only filled in a form, and never anyone Marsell only found. Each address is turned into a one-way code before any network sees it. Press A list on the network to make one; Add with a number brings in your newest people. Open a list on Meta, Pinterest, TikTok or Google to Find people like them: pick where and how close a match, then Find them. The network can take a day to build it. Pinterest does this in the US, Canada and the UK only.When paid ads are off
In setup, and later in Settings under Spending, you answer Should Marsell suggest paid ads?. With No paid ads, Marsell plans and suggests no ad on any network, ChatGPT included. Choosing it cancels every ad test that has no approved budget yet and closes its card. Nothing is sent to any ad network and nothing is spent, and the activity feed says which tests were cancelled. A test already running on a budget you approved keeps running: the activity line says so, and stopping it is yours to do. You can also ask the chat to cancel an ad test whose budget you haven’t approved.Rehearsals
A test marked Rehearsal reaches no one and its numbers are made up: it shows how a real test runs, and nothing is spent. Its card says Sandbox: no real money; a card that spends says Real money. A campaign, a boost, a sign-up or a list made in a rehearsal says so too.Who pays for what
- Ad spend is billed by the ad network to your own ad account. It never comes out of your tokens, and Marsell can’t add or change a payment method for you. Each test, campaign, boost and budget increase spends at most the amount you approved, and nothing else caps it.
- Tokens pay for Marsell’s work on the test: the ad words, the pictures and the landing page. Launching, reading results and pausing cost nothing, and so do boosts, forms and audiences.
- Running the ads: past the first 500 ads running across all of Marsell’s businesses, each of your ads that is showing or in review costs up to 111 tokens a month, your share of what the ad service bills Marsell plus a small margin, because Marsell counts your ads once a day rather than reading the bill, charged once a day. It is never a share of your ad spend. Accounts and tracking says what running your ads through Marsell costs.
