A show is a channel of the project’s own: a video series with its characters, voices, material and kinds of video. You describe it once. Marsell makes every episode from it, and each episode starts as a script you read first. Each project has one show, and a show counts as a running project on your plan.

Start a show

1

Open Your show

In Create, scroll to Your show: “Give” your project “a show of its own.”
2

Name it

Fill in What it’s called and What it’s about, in a line.
3

Start the show

Press Start the show. Its board opens. Starting a show costs nothing.

The show’s board

The board has seven tabs: Videos, Make one, Cast, Kinds of video, Material, Look and About. Changes wait in a bar at the top until you press Save the show, or Undo them. If something needs fixing first, the bar says how many things.

About

Its name, the language it speaks, what it’s about, its tone and its taste, in your words. Every script starts from these.
  • Ideas for episodes: your own ideas, one a line. The writer reads them before anything of its own.
  • Lines it might say: sign-offs, catchphrases and jokes you want in, used word for word.
  • Its accounts: the addresses of the show’s own accounts.
Remove this show removes the show and its parts; videos already posted stay where they are.

Cast

A show can run on a narrator alone, or Add a character for each person or creature in it. Give each a Name, a Role (Host, Narrator, Recurring or Guest), What they’re like and How they look, and up to eight of Their pictures, so they look the same from shot to shot. Pick a voice opens the voice chooser: search by how a voice sounds, such as “Warm, British, older, deadpan”, and play samples. Directed voices take directions such as [calm] or [whispers] in 85 languages; Straight voices read plainly in 29. Picking a voice costs nothing.

Kinds of video

A kind of video is one sort of episode the show makes. Each is a set of plain choices, and shows about what one video takes:

Material

Add files: Pictures, Clips, Music, a Logo and Fonts. For each, say Where it’s from: Yours, an Archive or Made. An archive item needs its licence first (public domain, CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA). Switch Use in films on for what films should use. If your show is a YouTube channel, Take pictures from it brings in its thumbnails and profile picture.

Look

Upload a logo, set up to eight colours (or Take the colours from a picture), describe how its pictures look, and choose its type.

Make an episode

1

Open Make one

A show with no kind of video asks you to Add a kind of video first.
2

Choose the kind and how it's made

Pick What kind of video, then how it’s Made as: Moving (clips from first frames, with mouths moving to the voice), Images, edited by Opus, or Drawn in code. Each shows its price. Pick the Quality, and A 4K master too if it’s for ads.
3

Choose how much you see

Step through with me stops at the script, a new voice, the table read and the plan with its first frames. Off, it runs to the end and you watch the film.
4

Give the idea

Write Your idea in a line or two, or tap one From your ideas. Leave it empty and Marsell takes one from your ideas.
5

Check the price and start

The form shows about what the episode takes, the share of your month, its budget and the tokens left on your plan. Allow more lets it go past the budget by a set amount. Press Start: write the script, or Make it.
From there the episode runs on its film board. See Films. Videos lists every episode, marked Your turn, Being made or Stopped. Open one to watch it, answer it or make it again.

Episodes Marsell plans

A kind of video with How often set makes episodes on that schedule. While Scheduled films wait for my yes on the script is on, each one stops at its script for your yes.

What shows cost

Starting and editing a show is free. Each episode uses tokens: the form shows the estimate and the budget before you start, and every paid step shows its price. If your plan doesn’t have enough left, the form says how many it needs, with Add tokens. See Marsell plans and tokens.
