> ## Agent Instructions > Marsell's MCP server is at https://getmarsell.com/mcp: agents connect with a key the owner makes in the app (a project's Agents page, Your own AI). See /developers/mcp for its tools. There is no public REST API yet; don't suggest REST endpoints. > The search MCP server at https://docs.getmarsell.com/mcp only searches these docs. It can't read or change anyone's Marsell projects. > Each business is a project with seven places: Home, Create, Market, Sell, People, Agents and Brand. 'Marsell plan' means the subscription (Solo, Core, Growth, Network); 'the plan' or 'the week' means the work Marsell has planned. > Tokens are Marsell's unit for AI and media work, granted monthly by the Marsell plan. They are not model tokens. # Billing Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/account/billing How paying for Marsell works: Stripe checkout, monthly or yearly, the launch price, changing plan, invoices and your card, cancelling, and failed payments. You pay for Marsell through Stripe. You pay on Stripe's own checkout page, and Marsell never receives your card number. Everything about your plan is in the tokens sheet: click the fuel bar at the top of any page. The prices and tokens of each plan are on [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). ## Start a plan You pick a plan while you set up your first project, right after Marsell's free first look. On **What I'd do**, click **See the plans**. A project without a plan opens the plans page on its own. Choose **Monthly**, or **Yearly 2 months free**. Click **Start** and the plan's name, for example **Start Growth**. Stripe Checkout opens, with the final price, any launch price and tax, before you pay. After you pay, Stripe sends you back and Marsell starts reading your business. If Stripe hasn't confirmed the payment yet, the page says **Checkout done.** and waits for it, which usually takes a few seconds. If you close the checkout before paying, nothing is charged, and the plans page says so. An unpaid checkout shows under **Not finished** in the tokens sheet, with **Finish** and ✕. ## Monthly or yearly Both renew automatically until you cancel. A yearly plan is billed once a year at ten months' price, and its tokens still arrive month by month. **The launch price:** a first monthly subscription on Core, Growth or Network costs \$99, \$199 or \$399 for its first month, then the plan price. Yearly plans don't get it. ## Change plan Click the fuel bar in the top bar. Under **Your plan**, click **Change plan**, then **Switch**. Stripe's billing page opens. Confirm the change there. Going up is charged pro rata straight away, and its extra tokens arrive at once. Going down is credited pro rata, and the smaller monthly tokens start at your next renewal. ## Invoices and your card Click **Invoices and card** under **Your plan** to open Stripe's billing page. It lists your invoices and lets you change the card you pay with. It opens once your first payment has gone through. ## Cancel In the tokens sheet, under **Your plan**, click **Cancel plan**. The plan ends on the date shown, at the end of the period you've paid for. Until then everything keeps running and this month's tokens stay. Click **Cancel on the billing page** and confirm on Stripe, or **Keep my plan** to leave it. After cancelling, the plan line reads **Ends** and the date. Changed your mind? Renew it on the billing page before that date. Once the plan ends, Marsell stops working for you. ## If a payment fails The tokens sheet shows what went wrong, for example **The last payment didn't go through. Update the card in billing to keep the plan.** Open **Invoices and card** and update your card. If payments keep failing, the plan is paused and Marsell pauses paid work until a payment goes through. ## Buy tokens Token packs and **Top up by itself** are paid the same way, through Stripe. See [Token packs](/account/plans-and-tokens#token-packs). ## Who can manage billing In an organisation, billing belongs to administrators. See [Team](/account/team). ## Refunds Payments to Marsell are final and aren't refunded, as the [Terms of Service](https://getmarsell.com/terms) set out. If you think you were charged by mistake, email [legal@getmarsell.com](mailto:legal@getmarsell.com) within 30 days of the charge. ## Related Prices, monthly tokens, packs and top-ups. Marsell keeps what it needs to market your business: what it learned about the business, the files you add, the work it makes and access to the accounts you connect. Your uploads stay private to your account, the keys to your connected accounts are encrypted, and Marsell doesn't use your content to train AI models. This page is a plain summary. The [Privacy Policy](https://getmarsell.com/privacy) and the [Security Policy](https://getmarsell.com/security) are the full texts. ## What Marsell stores * **Your account**: your name and email address. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, whose screen you see when you sign in. * **Your projects**: what Marsell read on your site and public profiles, your answers, the facts you confirmed and your brand. * **Your files**: the logos, pictures, fonts, documents and show material you upload. * **The work**: plans, drafts, pictures, films and pages, with your approvals and edits. * **Connected accounts**: the access Marsell needs to post, send or read results on the accounts you connect. * **Usage**: what ran and how many tokens it used. ## Where it's kept and how it's protected * Marsell hosts the service in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany), with files stored on Cloudflare. Its providers process information in the United States and other countries. * Everything between your browser and Marsell travels over HTTPS. * Every request to your account is checked against your sign-in and, in an organisation, against your current membership and role. * Files you upload are private: they open only for people signed in to your account. * Pictures and films Marsell makes are shown and published through long, random links that work without signing in, so the platforms you publish to can fetch them. Anyone who has one of these links can open that file. * The tokens and keys for your connected accounts are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and tied to your account, so they can't be read under another one. ## Who at Marsell can see it Marsell's team runs the service and has an operations view of every account: the business name, the Marsell plan, tokens used, when it was last active and how far the work has got, such as how many pieces were made or published. The team uses it to keep Marsell running and to fix problems. People Marsell authorises to handle customer data are bound by confidentiality. ## AI providers To do the work, Marsell sends the content each task needs to AI model providers: text models for research, planning and writing, and image, video, voice and music models for media. They process it and send back the result. Marsell doesn't use your content to train AI models. Section 6.1 of the Privacy Policy lists the providers. ## Delete your data To close your account and have your data deleted, or to delete a project, email [privacy@getmarsell.com](mailto:privacy@getmarsell.com) from the address on your account. After an account is closed, Marsell deletes or de-identifies your personal information, normally within 90 days, and copies in backups expire, normally within 30 days. Billing and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires. ## Export your data You can download your work where it's shown: open a picture or film in **Made for you** in Create, or download a file under **Your files** on Brand. For a copy of everything, email [privacy@getmarsell.com](mailto:privacy@getmarsell.com). After an account ends, Marsell may delete its content 30 days later. Download anything you want to keep before you close your account. ## Revoke a connected account * To stop Marsell posting to a social account, press **Stop posting here** on its card under **Where you post** in Market. **Resume posting** turns it back on. See [Connect your accounts](/market/accounts#check-stop-or-resume-posting). * To withdraw Marsell's access completely, remove it in the platform's own settings. For a Google account, that's [Google's third-party access page](https://myaccount.google.com/permissions). * Posts already published stay up. Delete them on the platform if you need to. ## Labels on AI-made content Marsell uses a platform's own AI label in some cases, not all: * Films with AI-made pictures or clips go to YouTube with YouTube's altered or synthetic content label switched on. * Posts from Marsell's own accounts always say your business is a Marsell client. Other posts aren't labelled automatically. Under the [Terms](https://getmarsell.com/terms), you're responsible for any AI disclosure that the law or a platform's rules require, whether or not Marsell adds a label. ## Report a security issue Email [security@getmarsell.com](mailto:security@getmarsell.com) and don't post the problem publicly. Say what you found, how to reproduce it, and how you'd like to be credited. Marsell acknowledges a report within 3 business days and tells you what it found within 10 business days. There's no paid bug bounty yet. The [Security Policy](https://getmarsell.com/security) covers scope, testing rules and safe harbour, and [security.txt](https://getmarsell.com/.well-known/security.txt) gives the same contact. If you think someone else got into your Marsell account, email [security@getmarsell.com](mailto:security@getmarsell.com) straight away. ## Related What connecting an account lets Marsell do. Organisations, roles and seats. # Frequently asked questions Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/account/faq Short answers about getting in, projects, approvals, accounts, tokens and billing, your content and data, and the MCP server, with links to the full pages. ## Getting started ### How do I get in? Marsell is in early access, and sign-in is by invitation. Not in yet? Use **Request early access** on the sign-in page. See the [Quickstart](/quickstart). ### What does Marsell need from me? A link to your business, a few minutes to check what Marsell learned, your accounts connected, and a yes or no on the cards that need you. See [Set up a project](/setup). ### Can I use Marsell without a website? Yes. On the first screen, click **No website yet?**, pick the closest kind of business and describe it in a line. Marsell can also build and host a website for you. See [Pages](/sell/pages). ### Can I try it before I pay? There is no free plan or trial, but the first look at your link is free, and **Watch me work first, on a made-up business like yours** opens a demo of the whole app. ### Can I run more than one business? Yes: each is a project, up to the number your plan runs. Click the project name at the top left and choose **New project**. All your projects share your plan's tokens. See [Projects](/projects). ## Approvals and posting ### Will Marsell post without my approval? Not unless you let it. Posts from your accounts ask first. After a run of approvals without changes, Marsell offers to let that kind of post run on its own within a daily limit, with an undo window. Ad spend always asks. See [What needs you](/home/approvals). ### How do I stop Marsell posting? Press **Stop posting here** on an account's card in Market to stop everything from that account, or undo single items under **Everything Marsell did** on Home before they run. See [Connect your accounts](/market/accounts#check-stop-or-resume-posting). ### Which accounts can I connect? Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, YouTube, Google Business Profile and Reddit for posting, and a Meta or Google Ads account for ads. See [Connect your accounts](/market/accounts). ### Does Marsell label AI-made content? Films with AI-made pictures or clips go to YouTube with its synthetic content label, and posts from Marsell's own accounts always say your business is a Marsell client. You're responsible for any other disclosure the law or a platform requires. See [Data and security](/account/data-and-security#labels-on-ai-made-content). ## Tokens and billing ### What are tokens? Marsell's unit for AI and media work: reading your business, planning, writing, pictures and films. Your plan grants them every month, and paid work shows its price first. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). ### What happens when my tokens run out? Marsell pauses work that needs a model, and Home says **This month's tokens are used up.** Posts you already approved still go out. Buy a pack, turn on **Top up by itself**, move to a bigger plan, or wait for the month to renew. See [When tokens run low](/account/plans-and-tokens#when-tokens-run-low). ### Do unused tokens roll over? The month's tokens don't: what's left expires when your plan renews. Tokens you buy carry forward. ### Is ad spend included? No. Ad spend is billed by Meta or Google to your own ad account and never comes out of your tokens. See [Ads](/market/ads#who-pays-for-what). ### How do I cancel? Click the fuel bar, then **Cancel plan** under **Your plan**. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. See [Billing](/account/billing#cancel). ### Can I get a refund? Payments are final and aren't refunded, as the [Terms of Service](https://getmarsell.com/terms) set out. See [Billing](/account/billing#refunds). ## Your content and data ### Who owns what Marsell makes? You do. The Terms assign Marsell's rights in the work it makes for you to you. Because of how AI works, similar output can be made for others. See the [Terms of Service](https://getmarsell.com/terms). ### Does Marsell train AI on my content? No. Marsell sends the content each task needs to AI model providers to do the work, and doesn't use your content to train AI models. See [Data and security](/account/data-and-security#ai-providers). ### How do I delete my data? Email [privacy@getmarsell.com](mailto:privacy@getmarsell.com) from the address on your account. See [Data and security](/account/data-and-security#delete-your-data). ## Developers ### Is there an API or an MCP server? There's an MCP server: connect Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client to your projects with a key you make under **Your own AI** on a project's **Agents** page. See [Marsell MCP server](/developers/mcp). A REST API for your own software is on the way. ### Can my AI assistant read these docs? Yes. Every page is available as Markdown, and the docs have a search MCP server at `https://docs.getmarsell.com/mcp`. See [Use these docs with AI](/developers/ai-tools). ## Still stuck? Email [hello@getmarsell.com](mailto:hello@getmarsell.com). For a security issue, email [security@getmarsell.com](mailto:security@getmarsell.com). # Marsell plans and tokens Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/account/plans-and-tokens The four Marsell plans with their prices, monthly tokens and projects, what tokens pay for, token packs, auto top-up, and what happens when tokens run low. Every Marsell plan does all six jobs: paid growth, organic and social, SEO and GEO, creatives, outreach and custom films, and sales. Plans differ in how many tokens Marsell can spend for you each month, and in how many projects, connected accounts and team seats you get. Tokens are Marsell's unit for AI and media work: reading your business, planning, writing, pictures and films. ## The plans | | Solo | Core | Growth | Network | | - | - | - | - | - | | Made for | One project, run by one person | Your first brand | A growing client roster | A larger operation | | Monthly price | \$49 | \$169 | \$399 | \$799 | | First month (launch price) | — | \$99 | \$199 | \$399 | | Yearly price | \$490 | \$1,690 | \$3,990 | \$7,990 | | Tokens each month | 200,000 | 700,000 | 1,700,000 | 3,600,000 | | Running projects | 1 | 3 | 10 | Unlimited | | Social connections | 2 | 3 | 8 | 15 | | Connected mailboxes | 1 | 1 | 2 | 5 | | Active creator assignments | 2 | 5 | 25 | 100 | | Team seats | 1 | 1 | 3 | 10 | * Prices are in US dollars and before tax. Tax is added at checkout where it applies. * A yearly plan costs ten months' price, which the plans page shows as **Yearly 2 months free**. Its tokens still arrive month by month. * **The launch price** applies to the first month of a first monthly subscription on Core, Growth or Network. After that month you pay the plan price. It doesn't apply to yearly plans. * **Running projects** are the businesses Marsell works on at the same time. A show counts as a project. See [Projects](/projects). * **Social connections** are the accounts Marsell posts to, counted across all your projects. **Connected mailboxes** send outreach email. **Active creator assignments** are the creators working with you at once. There is no free plan and no trial. To see Marsell work before you pick, open the demo: **Watch me work first, on a made-up business like yours**, on the plans page. ## What tokens pay for Tokens pay for work that uses an AI model or makes media: * reading and researching your business (the careful read after the first look) * planning the week, the daily pass and chat * writing posts, emails, replies and pages * pictures, films, voices and music These cost nothing: the first look at your link, answering Marsell's quick questions during setup, and posting itself on your connected accounts. X is the exception: it charges for every post made through its API, and Marsell passes that charge on in tokens. See [Posting and the calendar](/market/calendar#what-posting-costs). Some things are paid in money, never in tokens: ad spend goes from your own ad account to the ad platform, creator fees are paid to the creator, and press placements are paid to the outlet. ### What things usually cost The plans page shows what a first week took for an example business: | Work | About | | - | - | | Reading the business | 2,000 tokens | | A week, planned | 2,000 tokens | | Four pictures in your look | 3,200 tokens (800 each) | | A Short made in code | 10,000 tokens | | A part-filmed Short | 40,000 tokens | | A fully filmed Short | 60,000 to 80,000 tokens | | Writing a post | 350 tokens | These are typical amounts, not fixed prices. Paid work you start shows its own price or ceiling before you press the button, and you're charged for what the work actually used. ## How your monthly tokens work * Your plan grants its tokens each month. The month's tokens don't roll over: what is left expires when the plan renews, and the tokens sheet shows that date. * Tokens you buy carry forward from month to month. Marsell spends the plan's tokens first and bought tokens after them. * **Marsell paces the month.** It aims to put about nine tenths of your tokens to work by the end of the month, front-loaded, without making work just to use tokens up. The fuel bar in the top bar has a tick where the month should be by today. * Tokens held for work that is still running show as **held for work in progress**. Whatever the work doesn't use goes back. ## See your tokens The fuel bar at the top of every page shows how many tokens are left. Click it to open the tokens sheet: * **Tokens left**, with your plan and the day the plan's tokens renew; * how many came **from the plan**, how many you **bought**, and how many are **held for work in progress**; * **Your plan**, with **Change plan**, **Invoices and card** and **Cancel plan**. See [Billing](/account/billing); * **Top up by itself** and **More tokens**, below; * **What ran, last 30 days**: the tokens and requests, day by day and by kind of work, and **Token history**. ## Token packs A pack adds tokens when a month runs short. Bought tokens don't expire with the month, and the bigger the pack, the less each token costs. The price depends on your plan: | Pack | Solo | Core | Growth | Network | | - | - | - | - | - | | 50,000 tokens | \$12.50 | \$12 | \$11.25 | \$10 | | 200,000 tokens | \$45 | \$43 | \$40 | \$36 | | 500,000 tokens | \$100 | \$95 | \$90 | \$80 | | 1,000,000 tokens | \$180 | \$170 | \$160 | \$150 | Click the fuel bar in the top bar, or **Buy tokens** on a low-tokens card on Home. Under **More tokens**, click the pack you want. It shows the price and how much you save per token. Stripe Checkout opens. Once you pay, you come back to Marsell, and the tokens land the moment Stripe confirms the payment. ## Top up by itself Instead of buying packs by hand, you can let Marsell add a pack when your balance runs low. In the tokens sheet, turn on **Top up by itself** and set the sentence: > When fewer than \[an amount] tokens are left, add \[a pack] for \[its price], at most \[a number] times a month. | Plan | It starts at: top up under | With | At most | | - | - | - | - | | Solo | 25,000 | 50,000 for \$12.50 | 4 times a month | | Core | 50,000 | 200,000 for \$43 | 3 times a month | | Growth | 100,000 | 500,000 for \$90 | 3 times a month | | Network | 250,000 | 1,000,000 for \$150 | 3 times a month | You can change each part: the amount (25,000, 50,000, 100,000 or 250,000), the pack, and the limit (1 to 10 times a month). Top-ups charge a card you saved when you bought a pack: tick **Keep this card for topping up by itself** at checkout. Each top-up appears under **Topped up** with its receipt. If the card is declined or your bank asks for a yes, the sheet says so, with a button to fix it. Top-ups need a Marsell plan. If **Top up by itself** isn't switched on for your account yet, the sheet says so. ## When tokens run low When fewer tokens are left than the larger of 25,000 or a tenth of your monthly tokens, Home shows how many are left and how many days until the plan's tokens renew, with **Top up by itself** and **Buy tokens**. When the month's tokens are used up, Home says **This month's tokens are used up.** and Marsell pauses work that needs a model until more tokens come in. Posts you already approved and scheduled still go out. Work starts again when your plan renews, when you buy a pack or a top-up lands, or when you move to a bigger plan. A film or a show's video has its own ceiling. If it reaches the ceiling before it's finished, it stops and offers to carry on with a set number of extra tokens, which you allow with one press. See [Films](/create/films). ## Related Paying, changing plan, invoices and cancelling. What counts as a running project. # Team Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/account/team How organisations work in Marsell, the three roles, the seats each plan includes, and how to invite, change or remove someone. When you sign in, Marsell opens your personal account. You're its only member, with full access: approvals, spending, connections and billing. To work with others, create an organisation and invite them. ## Organisations An organisation is a separate account with its own projects, Marsell plan and tokens. Nothing moves between your personal account and an organisation. Organisations and their members are managed on **Team & permissions**. Open it from **Invite someone by email** under **Team** on any project's [Brand](/brand#accounts-and-team) page. It opens in the earlier version of the app, where the account menu (the gear at the top right) also switches between your personal account and your organisations. ## Roles Each member of an organisation has one of three roles: | Role | What it can do | | - | - | | Viewer | Read campaigns, content and results. | | Editor | Edit drafts and stop campaigns. Making, publishing, sending and spending need separate permission. | | Administrator | Manage the team, approvals, connections, making, publishing, spending and billing. | An organisation always keeps at least one administrator, and only an administrator can make someone else an administrator. A member whose role can't approve spending sees spending cards without the approve buttons: "Your role cannot approve spending. Someone who can will see this card too." ## Seats Every member uses a seat, administrators and viewers included. A pending invitation holds a seat until it's accepted or revoked. Creators you work with don't use seats. | | Solo | Core | Growth | Network | | - | - | - | - | - | | Team seats | 1 | 1 | 3 | 10 | On Solo and Core the one seat is yours, so inviting someone needs Growth or Network. ## Invite someone In the organisation, open **Team & permissions**. Press **Invite a teammate**, enter their email and pick their **Workspace role**. For an administrator, tick that you understand administrators can publish, spend and manage billing. Press **Send invitation**. The invitation is sent by email and expires after seven days. **Change team role** changes a member's role. **Revoke invitation** cancels a pending one. ## Remove someone An administrator can remove a member, confirm, and their access ends with their next request. The work they did stays, and anything already approved and scheduled stays scheduled, so stop it separately if you need to. You can't remove yourself: another administrator has to. Seats, projects and tokens on each plan. What Marsell stores and who can see it. # Agents Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/agents Who works on a project: Marsell's agents and the job each one does, the switch that sets how much each does on its own, the accounts they work through, and your own AI. **Agents**, "Who works on" your project, is Marsell's team: each agent does one repeating job, in its own outfit, with Marsell in charge. The line at the top says how many there are and how many are at work right now. Anything that posts waits for your yes. ## The team Which agents you see depends on your kind of business. A business that never approaches people, such as a law firm or a team inside a big company, gets no Outreach or Creator agent, and its Reddit agent only listens. | Agent | Its job | How often | | - | - | - | | Reddit agent | Drafts a reply in your voice to fresh posts in the subreddits that fit you. With Reddit connected, a reply that doesn't name you posts after your yes | Every 6 hours; every 15 minutes with Reddit connected | | SEO agent | Writes one page a week for a question people search, checks whether ChatGPT and Google cite the site, fixes what they miss | Weekly | | Trend agent | Reads TikTok, Reddit, X and Bluesky every morning and hands Create the trends and memes that fit you | Daily | | Listening agent | Catches mentions of the brand and its products, answers the easy ones, brings the rest to you | Every 15 minutes | | Directories agent | Lines up the directories that fit the business, in the order the plan set | Weekly | | Creator agent | Finds creators whose audience buys this, drafts the offer and the brief, sends nothing without a yes | Weekly | | Launch agent | Prepares the Product Hunt page, the hunter, the first comments and the day's replies | Once, then on launch day | | Outreach agent | Writes to buyers, partners and shops, one careful email at a time, with the thread kept in People | Daily | | Reviews agent | Asks buyers for a review a week after delivery, in your voice, and thanks them | Daily | | Newsletter agent | Turns the week's best pieces into one email to your list, on the day that works | Weekly | Each card shows the agent's job, the platforms it works on, how often it runs, what it has done lately, and when it last ran. ## Set how much an agent does on its own Every agent has one switch: **Ask first**, **On its own** or **Paused**. Press a setting to save it for that agent. **Paused** stops it, and it costs nothing while paused. The switch doesn't skip approvals. Anything that posts, sends or spends still comes to you, unless you've let that kind of work run on its own from a card. See [What needs you](/home/approvals#let-work-run-on-its-own). ## The Reddit agent The Reddit agent reads up to six subreddits that fit you, picks posts from the last two weeks where you can genuinely help, and drafts up to three replies a run. It never answers threads about health, legal trouble or grief, and never sends DMs. Its card shows how it's doing (**Healthy**, **Needs attention**, **Blocked**, **Starting** or **Paused**), its checks, its last run (what it read and found) and when it runs next. It needs at least three checked subreddits, and Marsell checks more each week. **How it works** explains its last run in plain words. * **Without Reddit connected** ("Public tier · it drafts, you post it"), it reads every six hours and you post its replies yourself. * **With Reddit connected** ("Reddit connected · posts after your yes"), it reads every 15 minutes and posts the replies you approve. ## The accounts they work through **The accounts they work through**, "What each one can do today", lists each kind of account, marked **Connected**, **Not connected** or **Needs setup**, with **What it can do** to read it in full: * **Social accounts** post what you approve to your own accounts. * **Reddit** finds threads and drafts replies in your voice; connected, it posts the replies you approve. * **LinkedIn** posts what you approve to your LinkedIn. Under **The accounts they work through**, press **Connect** next to **Reddit**, then **Continue on Reddit**. Approve Marsell on Reddit's own page. Back in Agents, press **Check accounts**. Reddit should read **Connected**. ## Your own AI At the bottom of Agents, **Your own AI** lets Claude, Codex or any agent you use work on the project with Marsell, through Marsell's MCP server and a key you make there. See [Marsell MCP server](/developers/mcp). What still waits for your yes. Connect your own AI. # Files and imports Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/brand/files Add your logos, pictures and fonts, bring your brand in from a site, or hand Marsell your documents. What each file is for, the types and sizes it takes, and what it costs. **Your files**, on Brand, holds what Marsell makes with: your logos, your pictures and your fonts. **Bring more in** reads more from a site you already have, or from your own documents. Your files are private to your account. ## Your files The section says how much of your storage is used. Files come in three groups: | Group | What it's for | Takes | | - | - | - | | **Logos** | The mark, kept exact in every picture and film | PNG, JPEG, WebP or outlined SVG, up to 10 MB | | **Pictures** | Read for the look; the good ones become references | PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 10 MB | | **Fonts** | Your own type, for pictures, films and pages | WOFF2, up to 3 MB | Drop files onto a group, or press **Add a logo**, **Add pictures** or **Add a font**, up to eight at a time. * **A logo**: **Use as the logo** makes it the one Marsell uses, and you can mark it for light or dark grounds or as a symbol. **Take out of the kit** stops using it but keeps the file. * **Pictures**: **Read** the new ones and Marsell reads each for your look; what they teach it shows in **The look**. * **A font**: choose whether it sets **Headlines** or **Everyday words**. Each file can be downloaded, and removed when it isn't in the kit. ## Bring it in from a site **Bring it in from a site** reads logos, colours, fonts and words from a page you already have: your website, another page, or a public social profile. Type the address and press **Read the site**. Each finding shows its kind (words, colours, a logo or a typeface) and where it came from. Edit the words if you like. Ticking colours replaces the colours you have; ticking a logo makes it the logo Marsell uses. Press **Use** with the number, or **Set it aside**. What you keep is saved as a new brand revision. This reads the page's own files and styles and uses no tokens. Past imports stay under **Before**. ## Your documents **Your documents** takes PDF, Word, text or pictures, up to 20 MB each. Pick what they are: * **Brand kit**: guidelines, logos, colours, fonts; * **Products and services**: brochures, catalogues, price lists; * **Company documents**: a profile, a deck, notes. Marsell reads them into a review of the business, and nothing in them counts until you confirm it. Press **Review what Marsell found** to check each fact, as in setup. See [Set up a project](/setup#check-what-marsell-learned). Your look, voice and facts. How your files are kept. # Brand Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/brand/index Brand is what Marsell knows about a project: your look, your voice, the facts every plan reads, the rules it keeps, your accounts and team, and the history of every change. **Brand**, your project "as Marsell knows it.", holds everything Marsell makes with: your logo, colours and type, your voice, the facts it may state, and the rules it keeps. Setup fills in what it can; you correct the rest here. Every change is saved as a new revision, and anything already made keeps the brand it was made with. Top to bottom: **The look**, **The voice**, **Your files**, **Bring more in**, **What Marsell knows**, **Rules Marsell keeps**, then **Accounts** and **Team**. ## The look The look is what every picture, film and page is made in, read from your site and your pictures, or rebuilt from your own words. * **Logo.** **Add your logo**, **Replace** or **Take out**. It goes on your posts, films, pages and avatar, and every new picture and film starts from it. A logo you replace stays in the kit as a variant. * **Colours.** Click a swatch to copy it; the pencil (**Edit the colours**) opens the editor. Up to eight colours, each with a name and a hex code; the first is the primary colour. **Add a colour**, then **Save the colours**. * **Type.** **Edit the type**: pick a face for **Headlines** and one for **Everyday words**, from the fonts included with Marsell or your own, then **Save the type**. **Your own WOFF2** uploads a licensed face, up to 3 MB. * **Pictures, aesthetic and never-dos.** The reference pictures Marsell matches, the words for your aesthetic, your places and motifs, and what it never shows. ## The voice **Edit the line and voice** opens three fields: * **A line that feels like you**: your brand line; * **How it sounds**: how you write and speak; * **Words, tones and claims to leave out**. Your status line, tagline and promise show as cards beside it. ### In your words **In your words** is your own brief, the way you'd brief a designer: what the brand is, what it looks and sounds like, what it isn't. Your words outrank everything Marsell read from your site. **Read my words again**, about 1,200 tokens, rebuilds the look from them. You can also tell Marsell in the [chat](/chat) what's wrong with the look, or paste your brief there. ## What Marsell knows "Every plan, post and page reads these." * **What it is** and **Who it's for**: click to change, then **Save**. These are your own words. * **The facts** you confirmed at setup, each tagged with where it came from: the page it was read from, **You corrected it** or **Your words**. A fact your site states two ways is marked "Your site says two things". * **Learned**: what Marsell took from your weeks. * **Read the investigation**: the full report from setup, with every source read, every claim and the passages behind it, what to lead with, and what remains open. **Report** and **Data** download it. If a review of the business is still open, a banner says so, with **Finish the review**. ## Rules Marsell keeps "One control each. Marsell follows them from the next post." | Rule | What it sets | | - | - | | **Posting window** | The hours Marsell posts in, in half-hour steps. 09:00 to 19:00 at first | | **Never on** | Days Marsell rests. Tap a day | | **Posts a day** | Per channel, 0 to 20 | | **Replies a day** | 0 to 200. Each one waits for your OK | | **Only as your facts say** | Kinds of claim Marsell never makes unless a fact above backs it, such as price or shipping. Up to 20 | Change one, then press **Save the rules**, or **Undo**. The starting values depend on your kind of business. See [Posting and the calendar](/market/calendar#your-posting-rules). ## Accounts and team * **Accounts**, "Where Marsell posts and what it reads": each connected account, with the drafts ready for it and "Posting held by you", and how many of your plan's connections are used across all your projects. See [Connect your accounts](/market/accounts). * **Team**, "Who can see and approve": you, and **Invite someone by email**. See [Team](/account/team). ## History **Revision** and **History**, at the top of the page, open "The story of your brand": the last 50 saved revisions, each with what changed (name, logo, colours, type, brand line, voice, what it is, website), its colours and fonts. **Go back to this** restores one, saved as a new revision, so you can always come back. Everything already made keeps the brand it was made with. ## How Marsell uses your brand * **Pictures** are made in your look. Pictures of your brand get your logo as an exact reference, and pictures of a product get the product's own photos. * **Films** get your logo, colours and type. * **Pages** use your colours, logo, brand line and what to leave out. * **Posts, replies and emails** are written in your voice, from your confirmed facts, keeping your rules. Logos, pictures, fonts, documents and imports. How the look shapes every picture. # Chat with Marsell Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/chat Ask Marsell about the plan and results, or tell it what to change: how to open the chat, what it can change, how it shows its work, and what it costs. The chat bar sits at the bottom of every page: "Tell me what you want to make happen…". Ask Marsell about the plan and how it's going, tell it to change something, or tell it something your site doesn't say. It answers in a line or two, makes the change when it can, and lists what changed under the answer. Every answer uses tokens from your Marsell plan. ## Talk to Marsell Click the bar, or press / anywhere you aren't typing. It grows into the conversation. Esc or ✕ closes it. Press Enter to send, or Shift and Enter for a new line. A message can run to 12,000 characters, so a pasted brief fits. Marsell says what it's doing, such as "Reading the numbers", "Planning the work" or "Researching on the web", and ticks off each step as it finishes. A new chat offers starting points such as "What are you doing this week?", "Which channel comes first, and why?", "Make a short film about what we do" and "We never post on Sundays". ## What you can ask Marsell answers from what it has on file: where the project stands, the plan and what became of each piece, results, your numbers, the people it has been in touch with, what it has learned, and the conversations it found online. When nothing on file answers a question, it can look the fact up on the web. ## What it can change | Ask for | What Marsell does | | - | - | | New work | Plans up to two pieces per message, checked like the rest of the plan | | A different day, or less work | Moves or cancels a piece that hasn't gone out yet | | Standing work | Starts, changes or stops a stream, such as posts a day on one channel | | A test | Starts an experiment | | Something to remember | Keeps what you tell it, such as "We never post on Sundays", and plans with it from then on | | A correction to your look | Changes the description every picture and film is written from: the design language, aesthetics, motifs, imagery and what to avoid. A full rebuild costs about 1,200 tokens | | A film | Plans or starts one, and opens it when it's under way | | Changes to a film | On a film's page, reads it and changes it with you | ## Work that spends or posts When Marsell wants to do something that spends tokens or posts, such as a voice take or a film render, it doesn't do it straight away. It shows a button with the price and the share of your month it uses: "Nothing is spent until you press it." If the price is more than you have left, the button offers **Add tokens** instead. A price more than a day old asks to be quoted again. ## Keep several chats Click the chat's title to open **Your chats**. Switch chats, **Rename** or **Archive** one, and open **Archived** to **Restore** one. **New chat** starts a conversation with no history. ## How it shows its work * **While it works:** Marsell, the step it's on, the steps done and the seconds so far. * **In the answer:** what changed as a ticked list, the steps it took, the time and **Copy**. * **If an answer fails:** "I could not answer that." with the reason and **Try again**. ## What the chat doesn't do * **Answer cards for you.** Decisions under **What needs you** are yours. See [What needs you](/home/approvals). * **Change your plan, billing or team.** Those are in the tokens sheet and your account. * **Edit your colours, type, logo or brand words.** Change those on [Brand](/brand). * **Take files.** Messages are text. Add pictures and documents on Brand. ## What it costs Every answer is AI work, paid from your plan's tokens. An answer that only reads what's on file costs the least; web lookups, rebuilding your look and films cost more. Changes the chat makes appear under **Everything Marsell did** on Home with their tokens. When the month's tokens are used up, Marsell replies that it can only listen until you add tokens or change the plan. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). # Films Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/create/films How Marsell makes a film: pick the kind, read the script first, step through the voices and the plan, direct the shots and lines, decide on the check's notes, and finish in HD or 2K. Marsell makes films three ways: **AI-filmed**, with real motion from video models; **Animated**, motion graphics drawn in code; and **Edited stills**, your pictures cut together. Every film you ask for starts as a script you read first, and nothing costly is made before your yes. Each step shows its price and the share of your month it uses. ## Make a film In the make bar in Create, choose **A film**. **AI-filmed** ("Real motion, filmed by the video models"), **Animated** ("Motion graphics drawn in code") or **Edited stills** ("Pictures cut together"). Each shows about what the whole film takes. A line or two on what happens in it. Press **Write the film**. The button shows the script's price; the line above it says what the whole film takes. The script is written, and waits on the film's board for your yes. A film starts only if your plan has the whole film's budget left this month, not just the script's. Films are made at 768p in 9:16 for Instagram, and you can finish them larger later. **Open the film's board** takes you to it; you can also ask Marsell in the chat to make a film, and it opens the board for you. ## The film's board The board shows the film's kind, quality and steps: **Research** (when the kind does it), **Script**, **Your yes**, **Read-through**, the pictures or clips, **Edit**, **Render**, **Check** and **Titles**. While a step runs, it shows the time on the step and the tokens used against the film's budget. ### Read the script "Read the script before anything costly is made." The script is shown scene by scene. * **Looks good, go on**, with its price and the share of your month, makes the next part. * **Hear the read-through** plays it. * **Ask for changes**, then **Send it back to the writer**, rewrites it from what you say. ### Step through with me Films you make on your show can stop at each costly step, with **Continue** and its price: * **A new character needs a voice**: pick it by ear. Picking a voice costs nothing. * **The table read**: listen before the pictures are made. * **The plan and its first frames**: look at them before any clip is paid for. Turn off **Step through with me** and the film runs to the end; you watch it and decide. ### Direct it **The board** lists every scene, shot and line. Nothing you mark is spent until you go on. * **Shots:** **Change words**, **Try again** (a new seed, a new first frame or a new picture, each priced), **Lock** a shot so it's never made again, and pick which model films it. * **Lines:** **Direct it** with tags such as \[calm], \[deadpan], \[whispers] or \[laughs], set pauses and who says it, and choose among **Takes**: keep one, **Take it again** or **Say it another way**. * **Make these changes**, with the price, makes what you marked. ## When Marsell's check finds something Before a film is done, the Checker watches it for mistakes: the sound, the picture, the characters and look, the format. A film with nothing to note is ready on its own. Otherwise it waits: "Watch it, then decide." with the notes under **What Marsell's check noticed**: * **Fix these** makes it again from the step the check named, at the price shown; * **Use it as it is** finishes it as it stands. The check's notes are advice, not a verdict: nothing is made again unless you press **Fix these**. ## Finish it * **Finish in HD** or **Finish in 2K** renders the film again at that size, with every take kept, at the price shown. * **Ask for changes**, then **Make it again with these changes**, makes a new film and keeps this one. * **Stop making this video** stops one that's running; **Drop this video** lets go of one that waits. To keep a finished film, play it on its board or in **Made for you** and save the file from the player. ## Films the plan makes When the week's plan calls for a film, Marsell makes it in code and brings it to **What needs you**: **Approve the film**, **Ask for changes** or **Skip**. The card shows the film, its length and cost, and says that nothing is posted. ## When a film runs out of tokens Every film has a budget: the estimate and a fifth. It stops to ask before going past it. If it runs out partway, the board says **Out of tokens for this video**, with what it needs and what it's short by, and **Allow** that much more **and carry on**. It continues from where it stopped, if your plan has those tokens left this month. If it doesn't, the board offers **Add tokens** in place of the button, and nothing is spent. ## What films cost | Film | About | | - | - | | The script | 2,500 tokens | | A Short made in code | 10,000 tokens | | A part-filmed Short | 40,000 tokens | | A fully filmed Short | 60,000 to 80,000 tokens | Every film shows its own estimate before you start, and every paid step on the board shows its price. If a price changes before you press, Marsell asks you to look again. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). A channel of your own, with its own characters. Ask for a film, or change one, in words. # Create Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/create/index Create holds everything Marsell makes for a project, in your look: pictures, films, pages and your show. Ask for more with the make bar, keep what's good, and it goes where it was planned. **Create** is where everything Marsell makes for the project lives, and where you ask for more. "What are you making?" sits at the top, with the four who make it: * **Director**: plans every shot, makes the pictures and directs the films. * **Writers**: write the captions, the scripts and the posts in your voice. * **Voice**: casts and records the voices your films speak with. * **Checker**: watches every film before you do and says what to fix. Everything is made in your look, which Marsell reads from your site and your pictures. Paid work shows its price in tokens before you press the button. Keep what's good and it goes where it was planned. ## What's on the page | Section | What it holds | More | | - | - | - | | The recipe cards | Quick starts: **Product shots**, **Ad set**, **Short film**, **Edited stills**, **Animated**, **Post picture** and **A page** | [Below](#start-from-a-recipe) | | The make bar | Ask for pictures or a film in a line | [Pictures](/create/pictures), [Films](/create/films) | | **Elements** | What everything is made from: characters, places, products and your look. Tap one to use it | [Below](#elements) | | **Waiting for you** | What's made and waits for your yes: pictures to keep, posts to approve, a page to publish, storyboards to pick | [Below](#keep-whats-good) | | **Made for you** | Every picture, film and page made for the project | [Below](#made-for-you) | | **This week's pictures** | The pictures the week's plan needs, ready to make | [Pictures](/create/pictures#this-weeks-pictures) | | **The look** | The look every picture and film is made in | [Pictures](/create/pictures#the-look) | | **In every picture** | Your products, as they're sold | [Pictures](/create/pictures#pictures-of-a-product) | | **Your show** | A channel of the project's own, with its own characters and kinds of video | [Shows](/create/shows) | ## Start from a recipe The recipe cards under "What are you making?" set up the make bar for you, filtered by **For you**, **Pictures**, **Films** and **Pages**. Each shows what it usually takes, such as "\~3.2k" tokens. A card only fills in the make bar; nothing is made until you press the bar's button. **A page** opens [Pages](/sell/pages) in Sell. ## Keep what's good **Waiting for you** shows the newest things that wait for a yes, up to four: * **Pictures** made today: **Keep all** keeps the set, **One by one** opens them on Home. * **Posts** in your voice: **Approve** sends them to their times. * **A page**: **Publish it**, or **See it in Sell**. Nothing is public until your yes. * **Storyboards**: **Pick one**, and the film is made from it. Keeping is the yes that matters for pictures. A kept picture becomes a draft post for the day it was planned, or an ad picture if it was planned as an ad. If that channel asks you before it posts, the post waits for your approval too. See [What needs you](/home/approvals). ## Made for you **Made for you** shows every picture, film and page made for the project, newest first, grouped into **This week**, **Last week** and **Earlier**. Filter by **All**, **Pictures**, **Films**, **Pages**, **Ready to keep** or **Kept**. * Films play on hover and show their length; pages show **Live**, **Paused** or **Ready · not public yet**. * Click a tile to open it large, with what it cost and whether it's kept. **Keep it** keeps a picture, **Open the file** opens the full file in a new tab, and the arrow keys move through the rest. ## Elements **Elements**, "What everything is made from · tap one to use it": * **Characters**: the lead of each film you've made. Tap one to cast them again in a new scene. * **Places**: the places in your own pictures. Tap one for two pictures there. * **Products**: your catalogue, read from your site. Tap one for two pictures of it. * **Look**: your colours, pictures and fonts. ## What Marsell makes on its own As the week runs, Marsell plans the week's pictures, makes the films the plan calls for and brings each one to you, and makes a picture for a post or an ad that is waiting for one. Pictures it makes on its own come out of your month's tokens. Films the plan makes come to **What needs you** as "Approve the film", and nothing is posted. Make, keep and plan pictures in your look. Write a film, read the script, direct it and finish it. # Pictures Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/create/pictures Make pictures in your look from a line or a product, plan the week's pictures, keep the good ones, and read or change the look every picture is made in. What pictures cost. Marsell makes pictures in your look: your products kept exact, your colours, your kind of shot. Ask for them in a line with the make bar, make them from a product, or make the ones the week's plan needs. Each picture shows its price before you press, and the pictures land in **Made for you** in a minute or two. ## Make pictures from the make bar In the make bar, choose **Pictures**. Write it in a line, for example "A flat lay of the two tees". The box suggests lines built from your own products and look. Tap a purpose chip, such as **The feel** or **A trend**, and up to four products. One to four. If more than one image model is on, pick one: each says about how many tokens a picture costs. Press **Make a picture** or **Make** and the number, with the price on the button. A writer writes each prompt in your look first. The pictures join this week's plan as your own picks, on the next free day, sized 4:5 for a post (or as an ad, if that's their purpose). They land in **Made for you** in a minute or two. ## Pictures of a product **In every picture** lists your products as they're sold on your site, with their price and category. Press **Make** with the number on a product's card to make pictures of it straight away. The product is kept exactly as photographed. Tapping a product under **Elements** sets up two pictures of it in the make bar instead. ## This week's pictures Marsell plans the pictures your project needs on its own: once when it's set up, then every week. Each planned picture has a purpose and a place to go, such as a post on a given day or an ad, and **This week's pictures** shows why the week needs them. Each card shows the day, where it goes, and where it stands: **Planned**, **Making**, **Ready to keep**, **Didn't come out** or **Kept**. * **Make it**, with its price, makes one picture. It also retries one that didn't come out. * **Drop** takes one out of the week; **Bring it back** puts it back. * **Make the week's pictures**, with the number and total price, makes all that are left. * **Plan the week again** rewrites the week's pictures. Some planned pictures need a real picture from you, such as a screenshot of your product at work or a team photo. Marsell doesn't invent these, and says so when you try to make one. ## Keep the good ones A finished set waits for you to keep it, in **Waiting for you** in Create and as a card on Home. **Keep** a picture from its tile, or **Keep it** when it's open. **Keep all** keeps the set. On Home, the set's card also offers **Make it again with notes** and **Skip**. A kept picture goes where it was planned: a draft post for its day and channel, or an ad picture. If that channel asks you before posting, the post then waits for your yes. See [Posting and the calendar](/market/calendar). ## The look **The look**, "Every picture and film is made in it", is what Marsell read from your site and your pictures: * a summary, your colours (click one to copy its hex code) and the words for your aesthetic; * **The motifs**, your type, your reference pictures and what never to show. **Read it again**, with its price, has Marsell look at your site and pictures afresh. To change the look in your own words, or your colours, type and logo, use [Brand](/brand#the-look). You can also tell Marsell in the chat what's wrong with it. ## Which model makes them Pictures are made by an image model, GPT Image 2.5 first. Where more than one model is on, the make bar lets you choose, and each picture's price depends on the model. Your product pictures and logo go to the model as references, so the product in the frame is the real one. ## What pictures cost Each picture costs the price the make bar shows for the model, about 800 tokens with the usual one; four are about 3,200. The writer that writes each prompt uses a few tokens on top. Pictures Marsell makes on its own for the plan, a post or an ad come out of the same tokens. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). Write and direct a film. Your logo, colours, type and look. # Shows: a channel of your own Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/create/shows Give a project a show: a channel with its own characters, voices, material, look and kinds of video. Marsell makes every episode, and you read each script first. A show is a channel of the project's own: a video series with its characters, voices, material and kinds of video. You describe it once. Marsell makes every episode from it, and each episode starts as a script you read first. Each project has one show, and a show counts as a running project on your plan. ## Start a show In Create, scroll to **Your show**: "Give" your project "a show of its own." Fill in **What it's called** and **What it's about**, in a line. Press **Start the show**. Its board opens. Starting a show costs nothing. ## The show's board The board has seven tabs: **Videos**, **Make one**, **Cast**, **Kinds of video**, **Material**, **Look** and **About**. Changes wait in a bar at the top until you press **Save the show**, or **Undo them**. If something needs fixing first, the bar says how many things. ### About Its name, the language it speaks, what it's about, its tone and its taste, in your words. Every script starts from these. * **Ideas for episodes**: your own ideas, one a line. The writer reads them before anything of its own. * **Lines it might say**: sign-offs, catchphrases and jokes you want in, used word for word. * **Its accounts**: the addresses of the show's own accounts. **Remove this show** removes the show and its parts; videos already posted stay where they are. ### Cast A show can run on a narrator alone, or **Add a character** for each person or creature in it. Give each a **Name**, a **Role** (**Host**, **Narrator**, **Recurring** or **Guest**), **What they're like** and **How they look**, and up to eight of **Their pictures**, so they look the same from shot to shot. **Pick a voice** opens the voice chooser: search by how a voice sounds, such as "Warm, British, older, deadpan", and play samples. **Directed** voices take directions such as \[calm] or \[whispers] in 85 languages; **Straight** voices read plainly in 29. Picking a voice costs nothing. ### Kinds of video A kind of video is one sort of episode the show makes. Each is a set of plain choices, and shows about what one video takes: | Choice | Options | | - | - | | **Its shape** | What happens in every video of this kind, in your words | | **What it looks like** | **Moving clips**, **Still pictures**, **Drawn animation** or **A mix** | | **Pictures** | **May be made**, or **Real only** (yours and archives) | | **Who is heard** | **A narrator**, **The characters** or **Nobody** | | **Length** | **Short · 30–60 s**, **60–90 s**, **3–5 min** or **8–12 min** | | **How often** | From **Only when I ask** to **Twice a day** | | **Quality** | **Standard 768p**, **HD 1080p** or **2K 1440p** | | **Words on screen** | **Spoken words**, **Titles only** or **None**, always clear of faces | | **Music under it** | On or off | | **Research first** | A researcher reads up on the story and checks its sources before the script | | **Scheduled films wait for my yes on the script** | On at first. A film you make yourself always shows you the script first | ### Material **Add files**: **Pictures**, **Clips**, **Music**, a **Logo** and **Fonts**. For each, say **Where it's from**: **Yours**, an **Archive** or **Made**. An archive item needs its licence first (public domain, CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA). Switch **Use in films** on for what films should use. If your show is a YouTube channel, **Take pictures from** it brings in its thumbnails and profile picture. ### Look **Upload a logo**, set up to eight colours (or **Take the colours from a picture**), describe how its pictures look, and choose its type. ## Make an episode A show with no kind of video asks you to **Add a kind of video** first. Pick **What kind of video**, then how it's **Made as**: **Moving** (clips from first frames, with mouths moving to the voice), **Images, edited by Opus**, or **Drawn in code**. Each shows its price. Pick the **Quality**, and **A 4K master too** if it's for ads. **Step through with me** stops at the script, a new voice, the table read and the plan with its first frames. Off, it runs to the end and you watch the film. Write **Your idea** in a line or two, or tap one **From your ideas**. Leave it empty and Marsell takes one from your ideas. The form shows about what the episode takes, the share of your month, its budget and the tokens left on your plan. **Allow more** lets it go past the budget by a set amount. Press **Start: write the script**, or **Make it**. From there the episode runs on its film board. See [Films](/create/films#the-films-board). **Videos** lists every episode, marked **Your turn**, **Being made** or **Stopped**. Open one to watch it, answer it or make it again. ## Episodes Marsell plans A kind of video with **How often** set makes episodes on that schedule. While **Scheduled films wait for my yes on the script** is on, each one stops at its script for your yes. ## What shows cost Starting and editing a show is free. Each episode uses tokens: the form shows the estimate and the budget before you start, and every paid step shows its price. If your plan doesn't have enough left, the form says how many it needs, with **Add tokens**. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). The board every episode runs on. How shows count on your plan. # Use these docs with AI Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/developers/ai-tools Read these docs as Markdown, point an AI tool at llms.txt, or connect the docs' search MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code. This page will hold its reference when it opens. The Marsell API isn't available yet. When it opens, it will let your own software work with a Marsell workspace: read what Marsell is doing for a business and how it is going, and hand it work, under the same approvals and limits that apply in the app. This page will then hold the reference: keys, endpoints with examples, errors and limits. ## Get early access Email [hello@getmarsell.com](mailto:hello@getmarsell.com?subject=Marsell%20API%20early%20access) with "API early access" in the subject and a line about what you'd build. We'll write when the API opens. ## Until then Connect Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client to your projects today. Markdown pages, `llms.txt` and a search MCP server for the docs. # Build with Marsell Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/developers/index Connect your own AI to Marsell through its MCP server, and use these docs from your AI tools. Your own AI can work on your Marsell projects. Connect Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client to Marsell's MCP server with a key you make in the app. It reads where each project stands and, if you let it, answers decisions, edits the brand's words, makes pictures and talks to Marsell. Connect your agent with an agent key, and see what it can do. A REST API for your own software, on the way. ## Use these docs from your AI tools Every page is available as Markdown, there is an `llms.txt` index, and a search MCP server answers questions from the docs. See [Use these docs with AI](/developers/ai-tools). The docs' search server at `docs.getmarsell.com/mcp` only searches these pages. To let an agent work on your projects, use the [Marsell MCP server](/developers/mcp). # Marsell MCP server Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/developers/mcp Connect Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client to your Marsell projects with an agent key: what it reads, what it can do, and how to set it up. Marsell's MCP server lets the AI you already use work on your Marsell projects: Claude Code, Codex, or any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol. It sees what you see, and anything that posts still waits for your yes. ## Make a key In the app, open a project and go to **Agents**. The section **Your own AI** is on that page. Give it a name you'll recognise, such as "Claude on my laptop". Turn on **Can act** if the agent may do things for you. Without it, the key only reads. Click **Make a key**. The key starts with `mk_` and shows only once: copy it, then click **I've copied it**. Treat a key like a password: whoever has it acts as you. To stop a key, revoke it from the **Keys** list in the same section. It stops working straight away, even halfway through a task. You can have up to 10 keys at a time. In an organisation, only administrators can make or revoke keys. ## Connect your agent The server is at `https://getmarsell.com/mcp`. Put your key where `mk_…` is. ```bash theme={null} claude mcp add --transport http marsell https://getmarsell.com/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer mk_…" ``` ```bash theme={null} export MARSELL_KEY=mk_… codex mcp add marsell --url https://getmarsell.com/mcp --bearer-token-env-var MARSELL_KEY ``` Or in `~/.codex/config.toml`: ```toml theme={null} [mcp_servers.marsell] url = "https://getmarsell.com/mcp" bearer_token_env_var = "MARSELL_KEY" ``` ```text theme={null} URL https://getmarsell.com/mcp Header Authorization: Bearer mk_… Kind Streamable HTTP ``` Then ask your agent something like "What needs me on Marsell this week?" ## What your agent can do | Tool | What it does | Needs **Can act** | | - | - | - | | `list_projects` | Lists your projects: name, website and kind. | No | | `get_overview` | Where a project stands: Marsell's latest line, what needs you, the week's plan, the numbers that move and what Marsell did lately. | No | | `list_decisions` | The decisions waiting for your yes, with each one's options. | No | | `get_brand` | What Marsell knows about the brand: what it is, who it's for, how it talks, its colours, type and look, and what it never does. | No | | `get_market` | The communities your buyers gather in, live conversations worth joining, questions people keep asking, and your rivals with their prices. | No | | `list_people` | Everyone the project has talked to, with their stage and last touch. | No | | `get_tokens` | Your Marsell plan, the tokens left this month and when they renew. | No | | `answer_decision` | Answers one waiting decision with one of its options. Posting, publishing and sending happen only as that option says. | Yes | | `update_brand` | Rewrites what the brand is, who it's for, or how it talks. Every plan, post and page reads these. | Yes | | `make_pictures` | Makes 1 to 4 pictures in the project's look. It quotes the price in tokens first, and only starts when the agent confirms. | Yes | | `ask_marsell` | Talks to Marsell in the project's chat: ask what it is doing and why, or tell it what to change. Answers can take a minute and spend tokens. | Yes | When you have more than one project, the agent names the project it means; with one project it can leave it out. ## Limits and safety * **A key acts as you.** It uses the role of the person who made it, checked on every call. If that person leaves the organisation, their key stops working. * **Your plan applies.** Work that costs tokens, such as `make_pictures` and `ask_marsell`, spends your Marsell plan's tokens, the same as in the app. * **Approvals still apply.** An agent can answer a decision only when the key has **Can act**, and only with the options the decision offers. * **Rate limit.** Up to 120 calls a minute per key. ## Technical details * `POST https://getmarsell.com/mcp`, Streamable HTTP. Each request carries one JSON-RPC message, or a batch of up to 20, and gets JSON back. There is no event stream or session: `GET /mcp` answers 405. * Methods: `initialize`, `ping`, `tools/list` and `tools/call`. Protocol versions 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26 and 2024-11-05. * A call without a valid key gets 401: "Use an agent key from Marsell: Authorization: Bearer mk\_…". ## Not the same as the docs' search server `https://docs.getmarsell.com/mcp` searches these docs and needs no key. It can't see your projects. See [Use these docs with AI](/developers/ai-tools). # What needs you Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/home/approvals The decisions that wait for your yes: where they appear, what each card asks, how to approve, change or skip, and how to let a kind of work run on its own within limits. By default Marsell asks before anything goes out from your accounts and before any money is spent on ads. Each request is a card under **What needs you** on Home. You can let a kind of work run on its own: it then goes out within a daily limit, and you can undo each item before it runs. Ad spend always asks, whatever you have allowed. ## Where decisions appear * **What needs you** on Home holds every card, with about how many minutes they take. Cards from this week's plan come first; older drafts from earlier plans fold away under their own line. * The bell in the top bar counts them. Click it to jump to them. * Some places show their own waiting cards too: **Waiting for you** in Create, the posts waiting for your OK in Market, your pages in Sell. Cards of one kind that arrive together, such as a day's posts or a batch of pictures, fold into one card with **Approve all** or **Keep all** and **One by one**. ## Answer a card Each card says which agent made the work, what it is, where it goes and, when money is involved, the most it can spend. Press one of its buttons. A button that needs words, such as **Ask for changes**, opens a box filled with the draft; **Back** closes it. **Open** and **Copy** buttons only open or copy, and answer nothing. Once answered, the card flies out. ## What each card asks | Card | What it is | Your buttons | | - | - | - | | Pictures | A finished set of pictures | **Keep all**, **Make it again with notes**, **Skip** | | Post | The caption and picture for a channel | **Approve and schedule**, **Skip** | | Post, no account connected | A post ready to copy | **Keep the draft**, **Skip** | | Page | Your landing page or website, as it looks on a laptop and a phone | **Publish the landing page** (or **Publish and start the test**), **Ask for changes**, **Keep it as a draft** | | Film | A finished film and its caption. Approving posts nothing | **Approve the film**, **Ask for changes**, **Skip** | | Storyboards | A round of storyboards for a film | **Produce the selected**, **Regenerate with notes**, **Skip** | | Writing | Articles and answer pages, each with its sources and anything to check | **Approve**, **Ask for changes**, **Skip** | | Reply | A reply drafted for a thread | **Open the thread**, **Copy the reply**, **I posted it**, **Skip**. With Reddit connected, **Post it from your Reddit account** | | Threads | Fresh threads where people ask for what you make, with drafted replies | **I went through it**, **Not now** | | Send it yourself | An email or message Marsell can't send for you | **Copy the words**, **Open where it goes**, then **I sent it** | | Listing | A directory to list your business in, about two minutes | **I submitted it**, **It's already listed**, **Not now** | | Idea | An idea backed by what Marsell found | **Do it**, **Not for us**, **Later**, **Tell me more** | | Approval | One exact action: an email, a reply, a page fix, a spend | **Approve**, **Edit and approve**, **Reject** | | Ads | Two ads, the budget and who sees them | **Approve**, **Edit and approve** (the daily budget), **Reject**. See [Ads](/market/ads) | | Question | Something only you can answer, or a two-minute task | Its choices, or **Done** and **Skip** | What the presses do: * **Approve** runs the action now. An approved post is scheduled at the next free time inside your posting window. * **Edit and approve** changes only the words (or, for ads, the daily budget), then approves. * **Reject** or **Skip** drops the work. * **Make it again with notes** and **Ask for changes** remake the work with what you wrote. * **Do it** puts an idea's steps into the plan, **Not for us** stops it coming back, and **Later** brings it back in 14 days. ## Let work run on its own There are two ways to stop being asked. ### After a run of approvals When you approve several items of one kind in a row without changing any, Marsell offers to stop asking: for example "5 approved, none edited. Let Marsell run "post" on its own within limits?" The card shows the daily limit and the undo window. * **Yes, within those limits**: that kind of work goes out on its own, inside its limit, each item scheduled with a 24-hour undo window. * **Keep asking**: nothing changes, and the count starts again. | Kind of work | Approvals in a row | Limit when it runs on its own | | - | - | - | | Emails, press, email sequences | 3 | 1 a day | | Publishing pages | 3 | 2 a day | | Posts | 5 | 2 a day | | Pitches | 5 | 5 a week | | Replies and messages | 10 | 20 replies and 10 messages a day | If you change or reject an item, the count starts again and that kind of work moves back a step. ### A posting stream When Marsell starts posting at a rate on a channel, it asks once: "Ask you each time, or run on its own?" * **On its own, within limits**: posts on that channel publish without a card, up to the stream's number a day. Each post waits an hour first, and you can undo it until then. * **Ask me first**: each day's posts arrive as one card. ### Undo Work that runs on its own shows under **What I do next** on Home with the time it runs, and under **Everything Marsell did** with **Undo** until then. Anything past its limit for the day comes back to you as a card. ## What always asks * **Ad spend.** Every launch and every budget increase is its own card. * **Offers to creators and press orders.** * **Reddit posts and replies from your account.** * **Posts about a trend.** * **Anything past its limit**, and anything with a claim your facts don't back. ## Limits that apply either way * **Your rules.** **Rules Marsell keeps** on [Brand](/brand#rules-marsell-keeps) sets the posting window, the days Marsell never posts, posts and replies a day, and the claims it makes only when your facts say so. * **Each platform's limits.** See [Posting and the calendar](/market/calendar#limits-on-each-platform). * **Your role.** Approving money needs a role that can spend. Without it, a spending card says "Your role cannot approve spending. Someone who can will see this card too." See [Team](/account/team). Where the cards live. What happens to a post after you approve it. # Home Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/home/index Home is where each day starts: starting Marsell, its line on where things stand, this week's work, what moved, the next seven days, the road, what needs you and everything Marsell did. Home opens with "Let's make" your project "win." and everything you need for the day: what Marsell is doing, this week's work, what needs your yes and what Marsell did. Top to bottom: 1. **Before Marsell starts**, until you start it. 2. **Marsell's line**, with this week's receipts and buttons to the week and your review. 3. **The week's hero**: the drop, the people asking for what you make, or the week's plan, depending on your kind of business. 4. **What moved**. 5. **The next 7 days** and **The road**. 6. **What needs you**, **What I do next** and **Everything Marsell did**. ## Start Marsell Nothing runs for a project until you start it. The first time you open Home, the card **Before Marsell starts** asks two things, "Two quick choices, then I start on" your project: * **From your accounts.** Marsell posts from the accounts you connect, as you. It asks before each post until you say otherwise, and you can pause a channel at any time. **Connect accounts** opens your connections. * **From Marsell's accounts.** On X, Instagram and TikTok, Marsell's own clearly labelled accounts comment in relevant threads, reply to people who ask, cross-post your reels and images and introduce you to other businesses on Marsell. That appears as Marsell speaking about your business, and every item says you are a Marsell client. Turn it on and the card shows what you agree to. Then tick "I understand the difference", check your plan chip, and press **Start Marsell**. You can start with nothing connected: Marsell plans and drafts the first week, and posting waits for a way to post. You need a plan with tokens left. For half an hour after you start, Home shows **Marsell is on**: "Your first week is being planned.", then "Your first week is planned." with **See the week**. It takes a minute or two. ## Marsell's line Under the heading, Marsell says in one line where things stand: the step it's on while it works, what its last pass found, or how many things need you. Under the line: * when the weekly plan was written and how many pieces this week holds; * receipts for what's ready, such as "Page ready" or "4 new pictures"; * **This week**, with about how many minutes the week needs from you; * **Review**, with how many decisions wait and about how long they take; * **Everything Marsell did**. ## The week's hero The big card under the line depends on your kind of business. * **A shop: This week's drop.** The week's film, made in code by Marsell, with its cost in tokens. The posts and the carousel, with captions in your voice, and **Approve all** or **One by one**. This week's page, "Ready · not public yet" until you publish it. And **The shelf**: the products the week leads with. * **Software, an app or something not out yet: Who's asking for it.** Up to three threads where someone asked for what you make, each with where it was asked, how well it fits and the reply Marsell drafted in your voice. **Read the reply**, **Copy** and **Open the thread** let you post it yourself. * **Everyone else: the week's plan.** Its title, the one outcome it works towards, and the pieces with their pictures and days. ## What moved Up to two cards on what changed: the pictures made since the start of the week, and, if your site blocks the analytics tag, what to change so Marsell can count visits or sales, with **Copy the fix**. ## The next 7 days Seven days from today, with the pieces planned on each and Marsell standing on today. A coral dot marks a piece that waits for you. The line above says how many pieces the week holds and when the last post goes. **Plan the week again**, on the heading, asks Marsell for a fresh plan "from what you've confirmed". It takes a minute or two and uses tokens. If the new plan doesn't pass Marsell's own checks, nothing changes. ## The road The plan's three phases as a path over 90 days, each with the signal that moves it on, and Marsell on today's stop. Day 1 is the day the project was created. Above it sits the plan's bet: for example "A provisional bet: \$10,000 in 90 days, about 200 orders", worked out from your numbers and marked provisional until they're measured. ## What needs you Every decision that waits for your yes, with about how long they take. Decisions from this week's plan come first. Older drafts from earlier plans fold away under a line of their own. See [What needs you](/home/approvals). ## What I do next Up to five actions Marsell has scheduled to run on its own, soonest first, with the time each one runs. You can undo each one before it runs, under **Everything Marsell did**. ## Everything Marsell did What Marsell did in the last day, newest first: each item with the agent that did it, when, and the tokens it used. Items that can still be undone show **Undo for** and the time left: work that runs on its own until it has run, changes to your look, and changes made from the chat, for a day. ## If something goes wrong * **Marsell hit a snag.** A plan that failed says what Marsell was doing and why it stopped, with **Plan again**. Nothing was changed, and what you approved before still stands. * **No week is planned yet.** Press **Plan the week**. * **Tokens are low or used up.** A card shows how many are left and when your plan renews, with **Top up by itself** and **Buy tokens**. See [When tokens run low](/account/plans-and-tokens#when-tokens-run-low). Approve, change or skip, and let work run on its own. What Marsell measures and how it plans from it. # Results and learning Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/home/results What Marsell measures, where the numbers show, how tests decide, and how what it learns shapes the next plan. A number it can't see is shown as not counted, never as zero. Marsell measures what its work produced, from the pages it hosts, the accounts you connect and the links it tags. It feeds what the numbers show into the next week's plan. A number it can't see yet is shown as not counted, never guessed. ## What Marsell measures * **Your pages.** Every page Marsell hosts counts its visitors, what they pressed and where they came from, on the page itself, without cookies. See [Pages](/sell/pages). * **Sign-ups.** Everyone who signs up through a page's form, confirmed. * **Sales.** Counted from your payments once Shopify or Stripe is connected. * **Your accounts.** What your posts published, and what your ad account spent and brought. * **Each piece of work.** Every link Marsell publishes carries tags naming the piece it came from, so a visit or a sign-up can be traced to the post, email or page that brought it. * **AI answers.** Each week, whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews cite your site. See [Search and AI answers](/market/search). ## Where results show | Where | What you see | | - | - | | Home, **What moved** | What changed lately, such as the pictures made since the week began, and anything that stops Marsell counting, such as a site that blocks the analytics tag | | Home, **The road** | The plan's bet over 90 days, and where you are on it | | Sell, the money card | Your sales, or what your kind of business calls money, over the last 30 days, and sign-ups | | Sell, the road | Visitors, sign-ups, sales and people who came back, each against its 90-day goal | | Sell, each live page | Visitors over 30 days, the share who did the page's one thing, and any test running | | Market, **Found in AI answers** | How many of the questions your buyers ask get an answer that cites you | | Market, **Ads** | Each test's spend, views, clicks, visits and how many took the step | | Brand, **What Marsell knows** | **Learned** cards: what Marsell took from your weeks | ## The 90-day goals The road in Sell sets a goal for each stop, worked out from a 90-day bet. Until your own numbers are in, it starts from a default of \$10,000 in 90 days and a typical order value for your kind of business, and marks them as assumptions. **How I set these goals** shows the arithmetic. ## Tests Two kinds of test run: * **Ad tests** run two ads against each other and fund the winner only with your yes. An ad wins only when it is clearly better by a statistical test, after at least 30 visitors each. See [Ads](/market/ads). * **Page tests** split visitors between your live page and a new version. A test needs at least 100 visitors per version and runs at least a week; the numbers call the winner, not Marsell's judgement. See [Pages](/sell/pages#how-marsell-improves-your-pages). Market's **Tests** channel lists every test, with what it decides on and where it stands. ## How learning changes the next plan * **Learnings need evidence.** Marsell writes down a learning only with the work, test or numbers behind it, and a newer result can overturn it. * **Decided tests are remembered.** A winner becomes part of what Marsell knows about your business, and the next plans read it. * **Your answers count.** An idea you mark **Not for us** isn't proposed again; **Do it** puts its steps into the plan. * **The next plan reads all of it.** The weekly plan starts from what Marsell learned, last week's results and your answers. The daily pass reacts sooner to new orders, sign-ups and decided tests. The road from a visit to a sale. How each page is measured and tested. # How Marsell works Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/how-it-works The loop Marsell runs for each project: learn the business, plan the week, make the work, put it out within your approvals, measure, and plan again. Who decides what. Marsell runs the same loop for every project. It learns the business, plans the week, makes the work, puts it out within your approvals and limits, measures what happened and plans again. You decide what goes out from your accounts and any money spent on ads. Marsell plans and makes the work, paid from your plan's monthly tokens. Nothing runs until you start it. ## The loop 1. **Learn the business.** Setup takes a free first look at your link, reads the business properly, and you check what it learned. Marsell writes from what you confirmed. See [Set up a project](/setup). 2. **Plan the week.** Marsell plans what to make, where it goes and why, around what you asked it to aim for first. The plan has three 30-day phases, each with the signal that moves it on. See [Home](/home). 3. **Make the work.** Pictures and films in your look, posts, replies, pages and emails. See [Create](/create). 4. **Put it out.** Work goes to your connected accounts once you approve it, or on its own where you've allowed that, always inside daily limits. See [What needs you](/home/approvals). 5. **Measure and learn.** Tagged links, the pages Marsell hosts and the accounts you connect show what each piece produced, and the numbers go into the next plan. See [Results](/home/results). ## Who decides what | You decide | Marsell decides | | - | - | | The facts about your business, confirmed at setup and on Brand | Each week's plan and what to make | | What it should aim for first | Which channels to work and how often, inside your rules | | What goes out: you keep, approve, change or skip each card | When to post inside your posting window | | Whether a kind of work runs on its own | Moving or cancelling its own work when the week changes | | Your posting rules, and when to plan again | What it has learned, and when to ask you something only you know | | Every cent of ad spend | | ## The weekly plan and the daily pass **The weekly plan.** Marsell plans the first week right after you start it. After that it plans once a week: it reads what you confirmed, your numbers and what last week's work produced, and writes the next week. Home shows when the plan was written and how many pieces it holds. **Plan the week again**, on the heading of **The next 7 days**, asks for a fresh plan at any time. If a new plan doesn't pass Marsell's own checks, nothing changes and what you approved before still stands. **The daily pass.** Once a day, and when something happens such as a new order, a sign-up or a new connection, Marsell checks whether anything changed. If nothing did, the pass costs nothing. If something did, it may move a piece, cancel one that no longer makes sense, add up to three small pieces, or ask you one question. ## The pace Your plan grants tokens each month, and Marsell paces them: it aims to put about nine tenths of them to work by the end of the month, more in the first days. The fuel bar in the top bar shows what's left, with a tick where the month should be by today. Marsell doesn't spend tokens just to keep up: if nothing is worth making yet, the tokens stay unused. When the month's tokens run out, work that needs them waits. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). ## What Marsell never does without you * **Start.** Nothing runs for a project until you press **Start Marsell** on Home. * **Spend money.** Every ad launch and every budget increase is its own card, whatever else runs on its own. * **Write to creators or order press.** Always a card. * **Post to Reddit through your account without a yes.** Every Reddit post asks first. * **Email people who opted out.** Anyone who unsubscribed, bounced, complained or said no is never contacted again. Everything else that goes out from your accounts asks first until you let that kind of work run on its own. See [What needs you](/home/approvals#let-work-run-on-its-own). ## Related Marsell's line, the week and what needs you. Ask about the plan or tell Marsell what to change. # What is Marsell? Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/index Marsell is an AI that markets and sells for your business: it creates the work, markets it and sells it. What it does, what it needs from you, and where to start. Marsell: a glossy lime-green bean with two black eyes and a coral ball on top Create, market and sell, with Marsell. Show it a link to your business and it learns what you sell, who buys it and how you talk. Then it plans each week, makes the work (pictures, films, posts and pages in your look), puts it in front of the people who'd buy, turns their visits into sales, and learns from what happens. You decide what goes out and what gets spent. Marsell brings you what needs your yes, and shows what it's doing the rest of the time. ## Start here From a link to Marsell's first week. What each plan includes, and what tokens pay for. ## What Marsell does * **Create.** Pictures and films in your look, with your products kept exact, and a show of your own. See [Create](/create). * **Market.** Posts on your accounts, replies where people ask for what you make, directories, AI answers and ad tests. See [Market](/market). * **Sell.** Landing pages for each offer, the emails that follow a sign-up, and fixes for what's in the way on your site. See [Sell](/sell). ## What Marsell needs from you * **A link to your business**: a website, a shop, a channel or a profile. Marsell reads it to learn the business. * **A few minutes to check what it learned.** You correct anything it got wrong before it plans. * **Your accounts**, connected, so it can post, measure and advertise for you. * **A yes or a no** on the things that need you. Marsell posts, replies and advertises from accounts you own. You connect each one by signing in on the platform's own page, so Marsell never sees your password. Connections belong to the project you're in: an account connected for one project never posts for another. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). ## Each account's card A connected account shows its handle, when it was connected, the drafts ready for it, and where posting stands: * "Posting held by you", with how many posts wait for your yes, and how many still wait for a picture; * how close the account is to posting on its own: posts run on their own after five approvals in a row, if you then say yes. See [What needs you](/home/approvals#let-work-run-on-its-own); * **Review the posts**, which opens the Social channel. Its status is **Posting**, **Stopped by you** or **Needs reconnecting**. ## Check, stop or resume posting * **Check** asks the platform whether access still works. * **Stop posting here** stops Marsell posting to that account straight away. What's drafted stays, nothing is deleted, and **Resume posting** turns it back on. * **Needs reconnecting** means the platform asked for the account to be connected again. Connect it once more; your drafts stay. Stopping posting stops Marsell, but the platform still keeps the access you gave. To remove it completely, revoke Marsell in the platform's own settings. Posts already live stay up. ## Marsell's own accounts When you start Marsell on Home, you choose whether Marsell's own clearly labelled accounts may speak about your business. With **From Marsell's accounts** on, they comment in relevant threads on X, Instagram and TikTok, reply to people who ask, cross-post your reels and images and introduce you to other businesses on Marsell. Every item says your business is a Marsell client, passes quality and policy checks, stays within weekly limits, and never pretends to be a person or a customer. Never a cent is spent without asking. See [Home](/home#start-marsell). What happens to a post after you approve it. How Marsell keeps your connections. # Ads Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/market/ads How Marsell runs two-ad tests on Facebook and Instagram or Google Search from your own ad account: what you need, the budget you approve, results, the winner, and who pays. Marsell runs ads as small tests: two ads against each other, sending people to one landing page, with a daily budget, a set number of days and a total you approve. They run from your own ad account, on Facebook and Instagram through Meta, or on Google Search. You pay the platform directly, and no money moves without your yes on a card. ## What you need first Open **Ads** in Market (or **Ads in full** for the whole page). Each ad platform has a tile that says where it stands, and **What you need first**: **Meta (Facebook and Instagram):** * a Meta Business portfolio; * an ad account in it, with a payment method added in Ads Manager; * a Facebook Page, which the ads run as; * an Instagram professional account linked to that Page, for Instagram; * connect as an admin of the portfolio; * selling into the EU: set the default beneficiary and payer on the ad account once. **Google Ads:** a Google Ads account with its billing set up. Marsell runs search ads: two ads in one ad group, for visits. Connect a social account for the project first: the ad account joins the same connection. See [Connect your accounts](/market/accounts). ## Connect your ad account Press **Connect Meta** or **Connect Google Ads** on its tile and approve access on the platform's own page. Back in Marsell, the tile says **Connected**, with the ad account and the currency it pays in. ## Where the ads may run Marsell never guesses where to advertise. It takes the countries, or your town with a radius, from your confirmed facts. If they don't say, choose them: **Where may the ads run?**, **Add a country…**, then **Save the countries**. Local ads reach 25 km around you by default. ## Start a test Press **Try two ads for an offer** and say **Which offer should the ads sell?**, for example a product or a free consultation. Press **Start the test**. Marsell writes two ads and a landing page. Nothing is spent until you say yes on its card. Marsell also proposes tests as part of the plan. One test runs at a time: an offer you add while one is under way joins it. Before it asks you anything, the test gets ready, and says **Waiting** and what for: the ad account, the countries, two ads' worth of pictures or films, or the landing page, which comes to you for a yes first. ## Approve the spend When the test is ready, a card asks to "Run two ads for" a number of days, "up to" a total. It shows: * both ads as people will see them; * the budget: an amount a day for each ad, the days, and the most the test can spend; * who sees them, where, and the landing page; * **How it works, in words**. Press **Approve** to start the ads, **Edit and approve** to type a different daily budget per ad (the button then reads **Approve with this budget** and shows the new total), or **Reject** to end the test. A test starts at \$10 a day for each ad for 7 days, up to \$140 in all. Spending always asks: a card that spends money never runs on a standing yes. A team member whose role can't approve spending sees the card without the approve buttons. ## Follow the results Each test shows, for both ads, **Spent**, **Views**, **Clicks**, **Visits** and **Took the step**, and how much of its total is spent. Marsell reads the results every hour. An ad wins only when it's clearly better at getting people to take the step, by a statistical test, after at least 30 visitors each. A small test can end without a winner. When one wins, Marsell pauses the other and says which won and by how much. Moving money to the winner is its own card: "Put" a new daily amount "on the winning ad". It never raises a budget on its own. ## When a test stops Marsell pauses both ads on its own when: * the test reaches the total you approved; * its last day is over; * the money bought nothing on two days: spend with no clicks, or clicks with nobody reaching the page. To stop a test early, pause the ads in Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads. ## Rehearsals A test marked **Rehearsal** reaches no one and its numbers are made up: it shows how a real test runs, and nothing is spent. Its card says **Sandbox: no real money**; a card that spends says **Real money**. ## Who pays for what * **Ad spend** is billed by Meta or Google to your own ad account. It never comes out of your tokens, and Marsell can't add or change a payment method for you. Live ads together have a monthly ceiling. * **Tokens** pay for Marsell's work on the test: the ad words, the pictures and the landing page. Launching, reading results and pausing cost nothing. The page your ads send people to. Why spending always asks. # Posting and the calendar Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/market/calendar How Marsell writes and schedules posts: the next two weeks, approving posts, your posting rules, the limits it keeps on each platform, replies, and what posting costs. Marsell writes posts for each channel, brings them to you, and publishes the ones you approve to your connected accounts at a good time inside your posting window. Each kind of post asks you first until you let it run on its own, and even then Marsell stays inside daily limits. ## The next two weeks **The next two weeks** in Market shows **This week** and **Next week** side by side, with what's planned around this week's product: * **Posts**, with how many wait for you; * **Pages**, live or "ready · not public"; * **Replies**, which you post yourself. A coral dot means a piece waits for your yes, **Making** means it's being made, and a tick means it's done. After the last planned day, the calendar says when the next days will be planned, "from what this week's posts do". Click a post to open the Social channel, a page to open it in Sell, or replies to jump to the conversations. ## How a post is made 1. **The plan sets the posts for each channel**, such as a picture post on Tuesday or two posts a day on X. 2. **Marsell writes the words** for that channel from your confirmed facts, in your voice. An Instagram or TikTok post also needs a picture or a film: until you keep one, the post waits for its picture. 3. **The post comes to you** as a card: "Approve a post for" the channel, with the caption and the picture. 4. **Once approved, it's scheduled** at the next free time in your posting window, never above the posts a day for that channel, and published to your account. ## Approve posts Press **Approve and schedule**, or **Skip**. A day's posts arrive as one card: **Approve all** with the number, or **One by one**. The Social channel in Market lists every post waiting for your OK. **When the account isn't connected,** Marsell still writes the post, ready to copy: "A post ready to copy for" the channel. Post it yourself, then press **Keep the draft**, or **Skip**. To move a post to another day or cancel it before it goes out, ask Marsell in the [chat](/chat), for example "Move Tuesday's post to Thursday". ## Let posts run on their own After five post approvals in a row without changes, Marsell offers to post on its own, up to two posts a day, each with a 24-hour undo. When it starts posting at a rate on a channel, it also asks once: **On its own, within limits** (each post waits an hour, and you can undo it until then) or **Ask me first**. See [What needs you](/home/approvals#let-work-run-on-its-own). Two kinds of post always come to you: a post about a trending topic, and a post that would go past the day's limit. ## Your posting rules **Rules Marsell keeps**, on [Brand](/brand#rules-marsell-keeps), sets when and how much Marsell posts: * **Posting window**: from 09:00 to 19:00 at first. * **Never on**: days Marsell rests. None at first. * **Posts a day**, per channel (up to 20), and **Replies a day** (up to 200). * **Only as your facts say**: kinds of claim Marsell makes only when a confirmed fact backs it. The starting numbers depend on your kind of business: a shop, software or a creator starts at 2 posts and 20 replies a day; a local business at 1 and 2; a law firm at 1 and none. ## Limits on each platform Marsell keeps under each platform's own limits: | Platform | Usual posts a day | Never more than | Notes | | - | - | - | - | | X | 4 | 12 | At most one post a day with a link. Every post has its own words | | Instagram | 1 | 3 | Needs a picture or a film | | Facebook | 1 | 3 | | | LinkedIn | 1 | 2 | | | TikTok | 1 | 3 | Needs a film or a picture | | YouTube | 1 | 1 | Films only | | Google Business Profile | 1 | 1 | No video | | Reddit | 1 | 3 | Every post and reply waits for your yes | ## Replies and comments Marsell reads new comments and messages on your connected accounts and drafts answers from your confirmed facts. They show in the Social channel's inbox. A question your facts don't cover comes to you as a card. Replies go only to people who wrote to or mentioned you, after your yes, within **Replies a day**. ## What posting costs Writing a post uses a few hundred tokens, like any writing. Posting itself is free on every platform except X, which charges for every post made through its API. Marsell passes that on: 150 tokens a post, or 2,000 tokens for a post with a link. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). Where Marsell posts, and how to stop it. Every card that waits for your yes. # Buyers and conversations Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/market/conversations How Marsell finds the communities your buyers gather in, reads their rules, and finds people asking for what you make, with a reply drafted in your voice for you to post. Marsell looks for the places your buyers talk, reads each one's rules, and finds the threads where someone is asking for what you make. For each, it drafts a reply in your voice. You post it from your own account, or approve it and Marsell posts it for you on Reddit. Nothing goes into a community under your name without your yes. ## Where your buyers are **Where your buyers are** in Market lists the communities, or crowds, your buyers gather in, with their members, how many posts a week, and their rules as chips: **No sales**, **No AI pictures**, **No AI content**, **No self-promotion**, and so on. Each crowd also says how Marsell behaves there: "I answer, never name you" or "I listen here, never post". ### What Marsell looks for Above the crowds, one sentence says who Marsell searches for, in your kind of business's terms: "I look for people into … who buy …" for a shop, "I look for people in" your area "who need …" for a local business, "I listen for people … who need help with …" for a law firm. To change it, press **Change** (or **Tell me**), then fill in **What people choose you for** (up to six, a few words each, such as "Y2K" or "AC repair") and **What they buy**, and press **Save**. Your words stay through every search. **Look now** searches again straight away; **Later** waits for the next search. ### Search again **Find them** (the first time) or **Look again** searches the web and forums for crowds, rivals and conversations at once. The button shows what a search usually costs, about 2,000 tokens, and a search never costs more than 6,000. While it runs it shows what it has found so far; when it's done it says what it found and what it cost. Once Marsell has started, it also searches once a week and looks for new conversations every day. ## Conversations to join **Conversations to join** shows threads where "Someone asked for what you make", from the last three weeks. Each card shows the community, how long ago, how well it fits, and the words that prove it. Press **Read the reply**. Marsell's draft appears under **Reply, in your voice**. Chips say whether it names your business and the rule of the community it keeps to. Press **Copy & open**: the reply is copied and the thread opens. Post it there from your own account. Press **I posted it**, paste the link to your reply, and press **Save**. The card shows **Posted**. Below the threads, questions that came up more than once are grouped as "Asked again and again", worth a post or a page of your own. ## Replies on Reddit The Reddit agent reads the subreddits that fit you, picks fresh posts from the last two weeks where you can genuinely help, and drafts up to three replies a run. Each comes to you as a card. * **Without Reddit connected**, it reads every six hours. Press **Open the thread** and **Copy the reply**, post it yourself, then **I posted it**. * **With Reddit connected**, it reads every 15 minutes, and **Post it from your Reddit account** posts the reply after your yes. Connect Reddit from [Agents](/agents#the-accounts-they-work-through). A reply that names your business says you make it, and every Reddit post and reply waits for your yes. Marsell never answers threads about health, legal trouble or grief, and never sends DMs. ## Trends The Trend agent reads what's being talked about each morning and hands Create the trends that fit you. A post about a trend always comes to you first. ## What Marsell won't do * Post into a community without your yes. * Vote, or ask and answer with different accounts. * Pretend to be a customer, or hide that a reply comes from your business. Who your buyers compare you with. Everyone who asked, in one place. # Market Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/market/index Market is where Marsell gets a project seen: the accounts it posts to, the next two weeks, where your buyers are, conversations to join, rivals, AI answers, ads, and every channel. **Market**, "Get" your project "seen.", is everything Marsell does to put the work in front of people. Top to bottom: | Section | What it is | More | | - | - | - | | **Where you post** | Your connected accounts, the drafts ready for each, and the way to connect more | [Connect your accounts](/market/accounts) | | **The next two weeks** | What goes out on which day, and what waits for your yes | [Posting and the calendar](/market/calendar) | | **Where your buyers are** | The communities your buyers gather in, and their rules | [Buyers and conversations](/market/conversations) | | **Conversations to join** | People asking for what you make, with a reply drafted in your voice | [Buyers and conversations](/market/conversations#conversations-to-join) | | **Who you're up against** | The businesses your buyers compare you with, and what they charge | [Rivals](/market/rivals) | | **Found in AI answers** | Whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews cite you | [Search and AI answers](/market/search) | | **Ads** | Two-ad tests on Facebook and Instagram or Google Search | [Ads](/market/ads) | | **Find people** | Creators, partners and press who fit | [Below](#find-people) | | **Every channel** | Each channel with the agent that works it | [Below](#every-channel) | ## Every channel **Every channel**, "Who works each one, and where it stands", has a card for each channel and its agent: | Channel | Who works it | | - | - | | Social | Posting agent | | Search and AI answers | SEO agent | | Communities | Reddit agent | | Ads | Marsell | | Creators | Creator agent | | Ideas | Trend agent | | Tests | Checker | Open a card for the channel's own page: its numbers, where it stands, and its own waiting cards, such as **Posts waiting for your OK** on Social or **Replies and listings waiting for you** on Communities. **Market** at the top takes you back. ## Find people **Find people** lines up three kinds of people who could help you sell: * **Creators** whose audience would buy what you make. **Find creators** opens the Creators channel. * **Partners**: businesses your buyers already use, for a joint offer. **Find partners** opens Sell. * **Press**: writers who cover your scene. **Find writers** opens Communities. Each shows how many Marsell has found. Everyone you work with lands in [People](/people). An offer to a creator always waits for your yes. Where Marsell posts, and how to connect more. What goes out when, and the rules it keeps. # Rivals Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/market/rivals Who you're up against: the businesses your buyers compare you with, what they charge, which ones Marsell studies, and how to add or remove one. **Who you're up against** in Market lists the businesses your buyers already know and compare you with. Marsell finds them by what your buyers identify with: a style or a scene for a brand, a niche for a creator, a place and a service for a local business, a practice area for a law firm, the job to be done for software. ## What you see * **Each rival**, with what it sells and, where its shop shows it, its price. A rival marked **Studied** is one Marsell reads each week: its pages and its ads. **You named it** marks the ones you added. * **What they charge**: for a clothing brand, a price ladder of what a tee costs at each rival, "Read from their shops", with your own price on it. * **Brands you learn from**: brands your buyers don't weigh against you, kept apart from the rivals, for ideas. * **Earlier market research**: the openings and crowds an earlier search found. ## Add or remove a rival * **Add one you know**: type **Their name** and **their-site.com**, then **Add**. * **Not a rival**: press × on a card. The next search leaves it out, and **Undo** puts it back. ## Search again Rivals are found by the same search as your crowds and conversations: **Find them** or **Look again**, about 2,000 tokens and never more than 6,000. Changing what Marsell looks for changes the rivals it finds. See [Buyers and conversations](/market/conversations#what-marsell-looks-for). Where your buyers talk. Test what wins against them. # Search and AI answers Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/market/search How Marsell helps people find you in search and in AI answers: tracking whether ChatGPT and others cite you, answer pages for the questions buyers ask, and directory listings. Being found is the SEO agent's job: in search results, and in the answers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews give. Marsell checks every week whether AI answers cite your business, writes pages that answer what your buyers ask, and lines up directories for you to list it in. Nothing is published without your yes. ## Found in AI answers **Found in AI answers** in Market shows how many of the questions your buyers ask get an answer that cites your site, on how many assistants, and how many mention you without a link. Each dot is one question on one assistant: filled when it cites you, empty when it doesn't yet. **See the answers** opens the Search and AI answers channel, with every question and every answer. Once a week, Marsell asks the assistants the questions your buyers would ask and records what comes back, on each assistant that's switched on for Marsell. ## Pages that answer the questions The SEO agent writes one page a week for a question people search, and checks whether ChatGPT and Google cite your site. A writing card comes to **What needs you** with each piece, its sources and anything to check before you use it: * **Approve**, or **Approve and host the draft** to publish it as a page Marsell hosts for you; * **Ask for changes**, with what to change; * **Skip**. ## Get listed in directories Marsell keeps a catalogue of 652 directories and launch sites, from AI tools and software to local businesses and fashion. It picks the ones that fit your business, in the order the plan sets, and checks whether you're already listed. Up to eight come to you at a time as cards: "Submit" the directory's name "listing (2 min)", each saying whether the listing is free or paid. Fill in the directory's own form with your business details. Marsell doesn't fill it in for you. Press **I submitted it**. If you were already listed, press **It's already listed** and paste the link, which has to be on the directory's own site. **Not now** skips it. The next directory arrives as you work through the cards, and Marsell checks submitted listings until they go live. A paid listing is paid by you to the directory. The Communities channel in Market has the full table. Answer questions where people ask them. The pages Marsell builds and hosts for you. # People Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/people People is the project's address book: everyone it talks to, from buyers and people who asked to creators and press, with where each stands and every touch. **People** is where everyone the project talks to lands, by itself: buyers, people who sign up, people who asked about what you do, the people Marsell writes to, creators and press. Its heading follows your kind of business: "Your customers", "Your clients", "Your players", "Your viewers" or "Your people". ## What you see * **Marsell's line**: how many people so far and how many touches in the last 30 days, or who is waiting for a reply. * **Warm right now**: up to five people touched in the last month. * **The path**: everyone by where they stand, from **New**, **Aware**, **Contacted**, **Replied** and **Talking** to your word for a win, such as **Customer**, **Client** or **Supporter**. * **Asked about it**: people who asked, in a community, for what you make, with the thread. **Send the drafted reply** takes you to its card on Home. The asker's handle is never shown. * **Everyone**: the list, or a board by stage. Filter by **People**, **Companies**, **Press**, **Creators**, **Customers**, **Subscribers** or **Prospects**. Each person shows their stage, or **Won't contact** with the reason, and how recently they were touched: this week, this month, or not in a month. Click one to see every touch, from them or from Marsell, and when they were first seen. ## Where people come from **Where people come from** shows each source and whether it's counting: * **Your connected accounts**: everyone who writes to you in DMs and comments. * **Orders**: every buyer, once your orders are connected. * **Communities**: the people asking in the crowds Marsell watches, with how many wait. * **Buyers and partners**: shops, partners and press the Outreach agent writes to, one careful email at a time, with the thread kept here. * **Creators**: creators whose audience buys what you make. The Creator agent shortlists them, and the ones you say yes to land here. ## Privacy People who sign up or buy are shown without their email address, as "subscriber" or "customer" with a short code. What goes to people, and the rules it keeps. Where the people who ask come from. # Projects Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/projects One Marsell account runs several projects, each a business with its own Home, brand and work. How to add one, switch between them, and how projects share your plan. A project is one business Marsell markets and sells for: a shop, an app, a practice, a channel. Each project has its own Home, its own week, its own brand, its own connected accounts and its own work. Your account holds every project, and they share your Marsell plan's tokens. ## Switch between projects The project you're in shows at the top left, next to Marsell. Click it to open **Your projects**: each project with its logo and its link, and a tick on the one you're in. Click another to switch. The app opens that project's Home, and every place from then on is that project's. ## Add a project Click the project name at the top left. Click **New project**, "Paste any link: Marsell takes a first look for free". The same setup as your first project runs: the first look, what Marsell would do, the careful read and your check. See [Set up a project](/setup). The new project gets its own **Before Marsell starts** card on Home. Nothing runs for it until you start it. ## What projects share, and what they don't | Shared across your projects | Each project's own | | - | - | | Your Marsell plan and its tokens | Home, the week and what needs you | | The count of social connections your plan includes | Its brand: facts, voice, look, logo and files | | Your sign-in, and your team in an organisation | Its connected accounts. When you reach your plan's number, Marsell says so when you save a new project: free a project or change your plan first. Nothing moves between your personal account and an organisation. See [Team](/account/team). The first look, the read and your check. The places inside each project. # Quickstart Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/quickstart From a link to Marsell's first week: paste your link for a free first look, pick a plan, let Marsell read your business, check what it learned, start it, approve. You need a link to your business (a website, a shop, a channel or a profile), a Marsell plan and a few minutes to check what Marsell learns. Nothing runs for your business until you press **Start Marsell** on Home, and nothing posts from your accounts without your yes until you let a channel run on its own. Marsell is in early access, and sign-in is by invitation. Not in yet? Use **Request early access** on the sign-in page. Sign in at [getmarsell.com/app](https://getmarsell.com/app). Under **Show me your business.**, paste your link and click **Take a look**. No website yet? Click **No website yet?**, pick the closest kind of business, write one line about it and click **Show me**. Marsell opens your link and says what it finds as it goes: whether the site is up, its pages, its colours and type, its logo, the socials it links to and whether people can buy yet. It costs nothing. See [Set up a project](/setup#the-first-look). **What I'd do for** your business sketches a first week from your own site: posts, films, pictures and pages, each with what it would take in tokens. The cards are sketches; nothing is made yet. Click **See the plans**, choose **Monthly** or **Yearly 2 months free**, and click **Start** on the plan you want. You pay on Stripe's checkout page. To look around first, click **Watch me work first, on a made-up business like yours**. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). Back from Stripe, the careful read starts by itself. Marsell reads your pages, your socials and what people say about you, and shows each page as it goes. It takes a few minutes and uses tokens. You can leave the page: it carries on. Under **What I learned about** your business, go through each fact: **That's right**, or **Change it** and put it in your words. Answer the quick questions your pages didn't settle (free), check **Your look**, and say in a line **What should I aim for first?**. The name and what you do need your yes. **All of it looks right** confirms everything at once. Then click **Start Marsell** to open the project. See [Set up a project](/setup#check-what-marsell-learned). Home opens with **Before Marsell starts**. Choose whether Marsell posts **From your accounts** and whether it may speak about you **From Marsell's accounts**, tick the box that says you understand the difference, and click **Start Marsell**. You can start with nothing connected: Marsell plans and drafts, and posting waits for a way to post. Click **Connect accounts** on the start card, or open **Market**. You sign in on the platform's own page. See [Connect your accounts](/market/accounts). Marsell plans your first week in a minute or two. Click **See the week**. Everything that needs your yes is under **What needs you** on Home: keep the pictures, approve the posts, publish the page. See [What needs you](/home/approvals). ## What happens next Once the week is planned, Marsell makes the work on the plan: pictures in your look, films, posts, a landing page, replies to people asking for what you make. Each piece comes to **What needs you** when it's ready. Marsell plans again about once a week, checks once a day whether anything changed, and paces your plan's tokens over the month. The loop it runs for you, and who decides what. Home, Create, Market, Sell, People, Agents and Brand. Marsell's line, the week, and what needs you. What each plan includes and what uses tokens. # Emails and replies Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/sell/emails The emails Marsell writes for you: follow-ups to people who sign up, first emails to prospects, replies and messages. What you approve, what you send yourself, and the rules every message keeps. **Emails and replies** in Sell holds everything Marsell writes to a person for your project: the emails that go to people who signed up, first emails to prospects, and replies and messages on your channels. Nothing is sent without your yes, nobody gets more than one approach a month, and anyone who asks not to be contacted is never contacted again. ## Emails to people who sign up When someone signs up on one of your pages, a short run of emails follows, drawn as letters with the day each one goes. For example, a welcome on the day they sign up, or a countdown to a drop. On the first letter, press **Approve all** (or **Approve it**) to approve the set, or **Reject**. Each email then still asks for your yes when it's due, until you let emails run on their own (see [What needs you](/home/approvals#let-work-run-on-its-own)). The list counter shows how many people are on your list and how many confirmed. If no page asks for an email yet, Sell says "Nobody can sign up yet" and offers to make a sign-up page. See [Pages](/sell/pages#a-sign-up-page). ## First emails to prospects For a prospect list you approved, Marsell writes one first email to each person, at most 25 per list. Each one: * leads with "Why now": the prospect's own public, dated reason to hear from you, with its source; * goes to a business address, or to their contact form; * ends with your business name, your postal address and a way to opt out. Until your postal address is in your facts, the emails stay **On hold**, and Marsell asks you for it. Each first email comes to **What needs you** for your yes, and goes from your own connected mailbox. When Marsell can't send it, it says **Send it yourself**: press **Open it in your email** (your mail app opens with it filled in), **Open their contact form**, or **Copy the email**, send it, then press **I sent it**. Marsell then won't approach that person again for a month. If someone asks you to stop, press **They asked me to stop** and **Yes, never again**. Marsell never writes to them again, by any route. ## Replies and messages Replies on Reddit, X, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, answers to Google reviews, and other messages are listed here too. When you have to send one yourself, use **Open it in your email** or **Copy the words**, send it, and press **I sent it**. Once sent, **See it** opens it. ## The rules every message keeps * One approach per person in 30 days, across every channel, and at most one follow-up in that time. * Nobody on your do-not-contact list: people who unsubscribed, bounced, complained or said no. * Every marketing email says who it's from, with your business name and postal address, and how to unsubscribe. An unsubscribe takes effect at once. * A law firm, a regulated practice or a team inside a big company approaches no one: Marsell only listens. * Marsell never sends LinkedIn messages, because LinkedIn doesn't allow automated ones. ## Where each message stands **Waiting for your yes**, **Send it yourself**, **Written**, **On hold**, **Sent**, **You sent it**, **Not sent** (with the reason), or **Asked not to be contacted**. A message marked **Sandbox** was recorded without being sent. Everyone the project talks to. What Marsell asks before it sends. # Sell Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/sell/index Sell turns attention into sales: what you've made, your pages, the road from a first visit to a second order, emails and replies, and what's in the way on your own site. **Sell** is about the step after being seen: turning a visit into a sign-up, a sale or a booking. Its heading follows your kind of business, for example "From curious to yours." for a shop, "From curious to paying." for software or "From enquiry to client." for a service. So do the words for what you count: sales, revenue or income; sign-ups, enquiries or a waitlist; orders, clients or backers. ## The money card At the top, your sales (or your kind of business's word for money) over the last 30 days, "Counted from your payments", once Shopify or Stripe is connected. Until then it says **Not counted yet**. Beside it, your sign-ups from your pages' sign-up box, and Marsell's line on where things stand, such as "One page waits for your yes" or "3 pages live. I'm watching who comes and what they press." If Marsell's site check found something serious that stops people buying or Marsell counting, it shows here with **Copy the fix** and **Every fix**. ## Your pages The landing pages and website Marsell builds and hosts for you, each with one offer and one action, with how they're doing and the next page Marsell would make. See [Pages](/sell/pages). ## The road **Visit to order**, or "From a visit to" your money word: four stops from a first visit to a second order, "counted where it can be counted, never guessed". | Stop | Counted from | | - | - | | **Visitors** | Your Marsell pages, the last 30 days | | Sign-ups | A page's sign-up box, once it's live | | Sales | Your payments, once Shopify or Stripe is connected | | **Came back** | Second orders, once sales are counted | Each stop has a bar against its 90-day goal. **How I set these goals** shows how they were worked out. **Open in People** shows the people at each stop. See [Results and learning](/home/results#the-90-day-goals). ## Emails and replies The emails that go to people who signed up, first emails to prospects, and the other messages Marsell writes for you. See [Emails and replies](/sell/emails). ## The looks For a shop that sells outfits as sets, **The looks** shows each look with its pieces and total price, with **See the page** or **Make a page**. ## What's in the way The Checker checks your own site each week for what stops people finding it, trusting it or buying: **What's in the way** shows a score out of 100 and how it moved, with how many checks pass, how many need fixing and how many aren't measured yet. If Marsell can't find where people sign up, buy or book, it asks: **Save the link**, **There isn't one yet** or **Not now**. The fixes come in three lanes: * **I'll fix**: "Marsell does these". * **You, 2 minutes**: a setting or a record, no code. **Copy the records** copies what to add. * **In your site's code**: **Copy the fix** for whoever builds the site. **Not for us** sets a fix aside; **Bring it back** returns it. Build, publish, pause and test your pages. What goes to people, and the rules it keeps. # Landing pages and your website Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/sell/pages Marsell builds and hosts a page for each offer, and a website if you have none. Where they live, how you publish, pause and retire them, and how Marsell measures and tests them. Marsell builds a landing page for each offer, with one offer and one thing for visitors to do, and hosts it for you. If you have no website, it can build and host one. Nothing goes live until you say yes. Live pages are measured on the page itself, without cookies, and Marsell looks at each one every day to see what would make it do better. ## Where your pages live Each project gets its own address: `https://yourbusiness.marsell.site/`. Each landing page has a path of its own under it, such as `https://yourbusiness.marsell.site/spring-tour/`. * **If you have a working website**, your marsell.site address holds only landing pages, and its home address sends visitors on to your own site. * **If you have no website**, Marsell can build one when the plan calls for it and host it at that address. Landing pages are kept out of search engines: they're for the posts, emails and ads that link to them. ## Make a page The plan asks for pages when a week needs one. **Next page I'd make**, under your pages in Sell, says which offer is next and why. **What you sell** lists your offers, each marked **Live page**, **Has a page**, **Next** or **Make its page**. Press one to make it the next page. Turn on **Make two versions and test them** to start with a test. Press **Make this page**, with its ceiling: up to 12,000 tokens. Nothing goes live until you say yes. The page shows **Being made** while Marsell builds it, and its card comes to **What needs you** when it's ready. ## Publish a page The card shows the page as it looks on a laptop and a phone, what it does (such as **Gets sign-ups**, **Books demos** or **Sells one product**), its button or form, and anything the checks found. Choose: * **Publish it** (**Publish the landing page**, or **Publish and start the test** for two versions); * **Ask for changes**, and say what should change, such as "The price bigger, the button higher, a warmer picture first…". Marsell builds a new version and brings it back; * **Keep the draft**. Your website comes on the same kind of card, with **Publish the site**. When a page is already live, the live version stays until you publish the new one. Publishing makes the page public at its address straight away. Click the picture on the card first to open the preview. ## Pause, put back or retire Each page shows where it stands: **Being made**, **Waiting for your yes**, **Live**, **Live · testing two versions**, **Paused**, **Draft** or **Retired**. * **Pause** a live page: visitors see "Taking a short break". * **Put it back live** when it's paused. * **Retire** a draft: "It stops taking visitors and is not built again." Pause a live page before you retire it. Your website can be paused and put back the same way. ## A sign-up page If no page asks for an email yet, Sell says "Nobody can sign up yet" and offers **Make a sign-up page**: one email box, written from your confirmed facts. It comes to you with **Make it live** or **Not now**. Once it's live, the emails you approved go to everyone who signs up. See [Emails and replies](/sell/emails). ## See how a page is doing Each live page shows its last 30 days: visitors, the share who did its one thing (such as "signed up" or pressed its button), a line of visitors by day, and any test running. The numbers are counted on the page itself, without cookies or personal data, and bot visits are left out. ## How Marsell improves your pages Once a day, Marsell looks at each live page and picks one next step: change nothing, wait for more visitors, fix the page, test a change, call a test, or get more people there. The page's card says what it will do next. * **Tests.** A test changes one thing and splits visitors half and half between the live page and a new version. It needs at least 100 visitors per version and runs at least a week. The numbers call the winner, and everyone then sees it. * **New versions.** A fix or a test version is built like any page and comes to you to publish, unless you've let Marsell publish pages on its own (see [What needs you](/home/approvals#let-work-run-on-its-own)). * **Too few visitors.** Marsell may ask to send people to the page with posts or a small ad test. The posts and ads then ask you in the usual way. ## What pages cost A page uses up to 12,000 tokens to build, and asking for changes up to 12,000 more. Building needs about 3,000 tokens left to start. Marsell's daily looks are small. See [Marsell plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens). Ad tests that send people to your pages. How pages are measured. # Set up a project Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/setup How Marsell learns a business: the free first look at your link, the sketch of a first week, the careful read, and how you check and correct what it learned. Setup is how Marsell learns a business. You give it a link, it takes a free first look, sketches what it would do, then reads the business properly and shows you what it learned. Marsell works only from what you confirm, and you can change any of it later on the [Brand](/brand) page. The steps show as a rail across the top: **Your link**, **First look**, **What I'd do**, **Plan** and **Read**. Setup is kept in your browser tab, so a tab you come back to picks up where it was. ## Give Marsell a link Under **Show me your business.**, paste your site, a shop, a channel or a profile, and click **Take a look**. You don't need to type `https://`. **No website yet?** Click it, pick the closest kind of business (**I sell things**, **Software or an app**, **A service**, **I make videos or posts**, **A game** or **Something not out yet**), write one line on what it is and who it's for, and click **Show me**. This skips the first look. ## The first look Marsell opens your link and says what it finds, one line at a time, while a board fills in beside it with your **Colour**, **Type**, where you sell and whether people can buy. It checks: * whether the site is up, and its pages and sitemap * whether anything measures visits, such as analytics or an ad pixel * your colours, your type and your logo * the social profiles your site links to * whether your domain receives email * whether visitors can buy, book or sign up yet. Marsell tries to reach the checkout; nothing gets paid. * the pictures and products it could work from The first look is free and takes seconds. If Marsell can't reach the link, it says so: click **Try another link**. ## What I'd do **What I'd do for** your business sketches a first week from your own site, as six cards stamped **Sketch**: posts, short films, pictures and pages, each with what it would take, such as "\~350 tokens to write" or "\~10,000 tokens" for a 20-second film. Every piece waits for your yes before anything goes out. Under the cards: * Without a plan: **See the plans**. See [Billing](/account/billing#start-a-plan). * With a plan: **Start the read**. * **Or watch me work first, on a made-up business like yours** opens the demo. * **Start again with another link** goes back to the start. ## The careful read With a plan, Marsell reads the business properly: your pages, your socials and what people say about you. When you come back from Stripe's checkout, it starts by itself. Otherwise click **Start the read**, after adding anything Marsell should know first if you like. A project without a link needs a few lines about the business before the read can start. While it reads, you see **Pages read**, **Quotes kept**, the **Tokens** spent so far and the **Time**, with each page marked as read, skipped or blocked, and what it has **Found so far**. It takes a few minutes, on your plan's tokens. You can leave the page; it carries on and waits for you. If a read stops partway, Marsell carries it on once by itself. If it stops again, what it found is shown for you to check, with **Carry on reading**. ## Check what Marsell learned **What I learned about** your business opens with **The short version** and a receipt: pages read, quotes kept, tokens used and how long it took. ### Quick questions If your pages didn't settle something, Marsell asks up to three questions. Tap an answer, or type it under **Or say it your way**. Answers are free. **Don't know? Look into it for me** sends Marsell to read up on the question, on your plan's tokens. ### The facts Facts come in three chapters: **Who you are**, **What you sell** and **How you sound**. For each fact: | Press | What it does | | - | - | | **That's right** | Confirms it as written. It's stamped **Right** | | **Change it**, then **Save** | Puts it in your words, or picks one of the suggestions under **Or one of these:**. It's stamped **Your words** | **Why I think so:** shows the quotes from your pages behind a fact, and **Read all of it** opens the whole text. A quote from placeholder or example content on your site is marked as such and can't be confirmed. Your business name and what you do are the two Marsell can't start without. ### What Marsell isn't sure about **What I'm not sure about** lists what wasn't on your pages, such as a page Marsell couldn't open or sources that disagree. None of it holds you up. Click **I know this** to answer, or **Look into it for me**, on your plan's tokens. ### Your look **Your look** shows what everything Marsell makes will look like: your **Colours** (**Change them**, **Not these**, **Add a colour**), your **Headings** and **Body text** fonts, the **Pictures I'll work from**, and **Your homepage, as I saw it**. You can change all of it later on the [Brand](/brand) page. ### What to aim for first Under **What should I aim for first?**, tap one of three ideas or write a line in your words. Marsell plans the first week around it. ### Finish The footer counts the facts you've checked. **All of it looks right** confirms everything at once. **Start Marsell** saves the project and opens its Home, where you start Marsell working. See [Quickstart](/quickstart). The **Start Marsell** button at the end of setup saves the project. Nothing runs yet: Marsell starts working when you press **Start Marsell** on the **Before Marsell starts** card on Home. ## Read again, or start over * **Read it again** throws this read away and starts from scratch, on your plan's tokens. Marsell asks first; **Keep this read** leaves it. * **Start with another link** leaves this setup for a new one. ## What setup costs The first look and the quick questions are free. The careful read uses your plan's tokens; it typically takes about 2,000. **Look into it for me** and reading again use tokens too, and the read's receipt shows what it spent. ## Change what Marsell knows later Everything you confirmed lives on the [Brand](/brand) page, where you can change it by hand or tell Marsell in the chat. Add another project, and switch between them. What Marsell knows about the business, and your look. # Find your way around Source: https://docs.getmarsell.com/workspace The top bar, the seven places of a project (Home, Create, Market, Sell, People, Agents and Brand) and the chat: where each thing lives, and which page of these docs covers it. The app at [getmarsell.com/app](https://getmarsell.com/app) is built around projects. The top bar says which project you're in and holds what is shared: your tokens, what needs you and your account. Under it, each project has seven places, and the chat with Marsell is at the bottom of every page. ## The top bar | Item | What it does | | - | - | | Marsell | Takes you to Home | | The project name | Switches between your projects, or starts a **New project**. See [Projects](/projects) | | The places | **Home**, **Create**, **Market**, **Sell**, **People**, then **Agents** and **Brand** | | Marsell's status | What Marsell is doing now, or how many things need you. Click it for Home | | The bell | How many decisions wait for you. Click it to open **What needs you** on Home | | The fuel bar | Tokens left this month, with a tick where the month should be by today. Click it to open the tokens sheet. See [Plans and tokens](/account/plans-and-tokens) | | Sun or moon | Switches between light and dark | | **v3** | Opens the earlier version of the app, which some account pages still use | | Your picture | **Your account** (name, email, password and sign-in methods) and **Sign out** | ## The places Marsell's line, this week's work, what moved, the next seven days, and what needs you. Start here each day. Everything Marsell makes in your look: pictures, films and shows, and the make bar to ask for more. Where you post, the next two weeks, where your buyers are, conversations to join, rivals, AI answers and ads. Your pages, the road from a visit to a sale, emails and replies, and what's in the way. Everyone the project talks to: buyers, people who asked, creators and press, with where each one stands. Who works on the project, the accounts they work through, and your own AI. What Marsell knows about the business: your look, your voice, your files and the rules it keeps. ## The chat At the bottom of every page sits the chat bar: "Tell me what you want to make happen…". Click it, or press /, to talk to Marsell. Ask about the plan, tell it what to change, or tell it something your site doesn't say. See [Chat with Marsell](/chat). ## When the app updates When a new version of Marsell is out, a bar says **Marsell has been updated. Reload to get the new version.** Press **Reload**. ## The demo To see the app on a made-up business, open **Watch me work first, on a made-up business like yours** during setup. In the demo nothing is sent or spent, and the chat only listens.
