> ## Agent Instructions
> Marsell's MCP server is at https://getmarsell.com/mcp: agents connect with a key the owner makes in the app (a project's Agents page, Your own AI). See /developers/mcp for its tools. There is no public REST API yet; don't suggest REST endpoints.
> The search MCP server at https://docs.getmarsell.com/mcp only searches these docs. It can't read or change anyone's Marsell projects.
> Each business is a project with nine places: Home, Plan, Create, Market, Sell, People, Analytics, Agents and Brand. 'Marsell plan' means the subscription (Solo, Core, Growth, Network); 'the plan' or 'the week' means the work Marsell has planned.
> Tokens are Marsell's unit for AI and media work, granted monthly by the Marsell plan. They are not model tokens.

# Analytics

> Analytics shows how a project is doing in numbers: the ones it is counted by, its goal first, visits to your site, your channel and your code, everything else Marsell counts, and what isn't counted yet.

**Analytics** opens with "How" your project "is doing." In the top corner, choose how far back to look: **7 days**, **30 days** or **90 days**. The choice covers the whole page and is remembered on this device. Each number shows how it moved against the period before.

Top to bottom:

1. **The first row**: the numbers your project is counted by.
2. **Your site**: who came, from where, what they looked at, and **Where people press**.
3. **What else Marsell counts**: your channel, your code, posts, search, ads and more.
4. **What people searched** on Google.
5. **Not counted yet**: what would show here, and the step that starts it.

The same page works for every kind of project, in its own words: a shop's orders are a local business's bookings.

## The first row

Up to five tiles, chosen for your project. Your [goal](/plan#the-goal) comes first, then the other numbers your type of project is counted by that something really counts, then visits to your site. A number that doesn't fit never takes a place: a free tool leads with downloads or stars, never revenue.

Tiles with a count come first. A tile draws its line once it has a shape: two days counted, not all the same. A number nothing counts yet says **Not counted yet**, with the step that would start it. Press it for why and **Take me there**.

Press any number, here or further down, to open it: the total and how it moved, each day, what it is split by, and what counted it. If two connections count the same number, Marsell shows one count, the one it read most recently, so nothing is counted twice.

## Your site

Visits to your site, read live from Marsell's visit counter, which counts without cookies. The heading names your site by its full address, with its folder when it lives under one (such as `name.github.io/project`), and says when it was read. Beside it, a dot says how many people are on the site now.

| Number | What it counts |
| - | - |
| **People** | Different people who came |
| **Visits** | Sittings on the site: one person can make several |
| **Pages opened** | Every page anyone opened |
| **Time a visit** | How long a visit lasts, on average |
| **Left after one page** | Visits that opened one page and nothing else |

Under them, the people who came each day (your own visits count too), then a card for each of these. Press a card to see all of it.

* **Where they came from**: visits by kind of place and by name. **Direct** is a visit with no trace of where it came from, such as a typed address, a bookmark or a link opened inside an app. A tagged link says where it was posted, so it is counted even then.
* **What they looked at**: the pages people opened, and where visits started.
* **Where they are**: countries and cities.
* **What they used**: devices, browsers and systems.
* **When they come**: the busiest day and hour.
* **What they did**: presses your site reports by name, such as a sign-up or "add to cart". A site reports one when its button is marked for it. Shown once there are any.
* **How fast it feels**: how quickly pages load for three visitors in four, in four measures: **Main content shows** (good is under 2.5 s), **Answers a press** (under 200 ms), **Page holds still** (under 0.10) and **Server answers** (under 0.8 s), each marked **Good**, **Could be faster** or **Slow**. Shown once there are page loads to measure.
* **Latest visits**: the newest visits first, each with where it was, the device and browser, when, and how many pages it opened.

### Start counting visits

Until the counter is on your site, **Your site** says what it would show and gives the step. The counter takes one line in your site's head, and you set it up on Brand, under **Connections**, **Visit counts**:

* If Marsell can open pull requests on your site's code on GitHub, press **Add it to my site** and merge the pull request.
* Otherwise press **Copy for your developer**. It copies the line with the steps to add it and check it works. Then press **Check now**.

Once it's on, open your site in another tab and the visit shows within about five minutes.

If Google Analytics already counts your visits, **Your site** shows that count until the counter is on, and says what the counter adds: the pages people open, where they are, what they use and who is on the site right now.

### Where people press

A card under **Your site** shows the busiest page with where visitors pressed on it and how far down they scrolled. Open it to pick any page, switch between **Presses** and **Scrolling**, and choose **Phone**, **Tablet** or **Desktop**. The presses are drawn over Marsell's own picture of the page, never a live copy of your site.

It needs one more line on your site, after the counter's. Press **Add it to my site** for a pull request, or **Copy for your developer**. On a busy site Marsell may draw a share of the visits, and the card says how many, such as "about 1 visit in 4".

## Your channel and your code

If your project has a YouTube channel or a GitHub repository, Marsell counts it once a day, with no sign-in and no key.

* **Your channel**: subscribers (YouTube rounds them above a thousand), uploads, each video's views, the uploads that did best, and the whole channel's views each day where YouTube's total can be read.
* **Your code**: stars, forks, open issues (GitHub counts open pull requests with them), the downloads of every release added up, and the latest release with its downloads.

Marsell finds the channel or repository from your site or from setup. A GitHub Pages site is counted from the repository it is published from. To add one yourself, paste its address on Brand, under **Connections**, **Your channel and code**. A repository's visits are not counted: GitHub shows them only to its admins, and Marsell doesn't ask for that access.

## What else Marsell counts

Every other number Marsell holds, a card each, with its first number large. Press a number to see it day by day.

| Card | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **What it led to** | The yeses and the money: orders, sales, sign-ups and the like, from what you connected |
| **Your channel** | Who follows and watches on YouTube |
| **Your code** | Your repository on GitHub |
| **Your posts** | Who saw them, by channel |
| **Search** | When people looked for something you have |
| **Ads** | What they cost and what they brought |
| **AI answers** | When an assistant sends a buyer your way |
| **Communities** | Where your buyers talk |
| **The work** | What went out |

A card shows only when something counts it.

## What people searched

What people typed into Google before they saw or opened your site, from Google Search Console when it's connected on Brand, under **Connections**. For each search: **Opened you**, **Saw you** and **Your place** in the results.

## Not counted yet

The numbers your plan needs that nothing has counted in the last four weeks. Each says why, and the one step that would start counting it, such as **Add your YouTube channel** or connecting a shop. **Take me there** goes straight to that step. The plan reads the same list, so Plan and Analytics never disagree about what is counted.

## How Marsell uses the numbers

Marsell reads these numbers when it writes your plan and picks your weekly ideas, and your goal on [Plan](/plan) is counted from them. See [Results and learning](/home/results).
